A girl is dead, and her boyfriend is now the prime suspect. Ana and Din have to travel far to the third ring to solve this mystery, and once they got their hands on this case, more disturbing secrets unravel one by one...

I love how eerie the setting is; with the soft wet moss around and dark, untouched forest that hides many old secrets.

Din and Ana's dynamic never cease to amaze me: they banter like mother and son (well Din is more like a well behaved son even though he has the tendency to do exactly the opposite of what Ana told him, stupid boy *side eye*). And I love Ana's humor so much! You will also see the revelation of Din's past and more questions about Ana's origin in this book.

Fast pacing & really page turner, a type of book that will get you out of slump (or get you into one, because it might be difficult to find a gripping story like this!). The social and political commentary really hits hard, a corrupt government and elites, and how it affect the people. This book gives me a lot to think, and allow me to realize how I love this series so much.

I'm pretty sure this book is NOT the end of the Shadow of the Leviathan series. There are soooo many things left unanswered and more mysteries to reveal especially about the Khanum and the Empire (and the Leviathan, come on, we want to see more of them👀)

If you love Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot series, I believe you will devour this series like there's no tomorrow. It's like...Sherlock x Poirot x Attack on Titan x The Last of Us.

Holysh-t. This book has everything that I wanted in a book:
- gothic atmosphere
- haunted house
- unreliable narrator
- dark academia aesthetic
- cult & religious trauma
- body horror
- mc who's obsessed over the other mc
- ace mc
- mm romance
- plot twists

I really loooove Augustus. And I love Nathaniel too. They both forever have my heart.
This book will definitely mindf-ck you, like, you don't even know which is real and which is only happening in Augustus' head. And the ending?! Ugh, it's very thought provoking and now I need the story from Nate's POV, you know...for closure🙂‍↕️

(I hate to admit that sometimes...I agree with the Devil...)

Book Tour Event📚

Please forgive me for posting this late (it's my fault, life's been tough *cries*), but hear me out—this might be one of my best reads this year🎉(me everytime I finished a book, but yk I only read the best ones *wink*).

So here's my full review on:
— Stratagem of Fated Winds by Minyue Fu✨
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's a historical fiction follows two young men Sun Ce and Zhou Yu (who actually existed in Chinese history).

I won't lie but the first part of the book felt very slow for me, but once it hit 40% mark, I really couldn't put it down—I flew through it. It's gripping, thrilling, I kept anticipating what will happen when I turn the page! (Yes yes it kept me on the edge of my bed at 2 am).

The story focuses on political intrigue and how it affects the characters' relationships. There are many things that you can relate with the world today (yes, the quotes!!! Very relatable!). The proses are quite straightforward so it's easy to follow. But it is told in dual timeline so maybe you need to pay attention or else you'll lost🙇🏻‍♀️ It's full of action, the scenes were described very vividly that I could picture it in my head.

The romance is something that I fond of. It's slow burn, not cringey, not cliche, for me it's a love story with unwavering devotion, that kind of "no matter what you do, I'll always stay by your side" type of romance. I love the dynamic between Bofu and Gongjin—Bofu is playful and energetic, while Gongjin is more serious and calculating. They're longing and yearning for each other (and I keep chanting "kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss!") because the sexual tension between Bofu and Gongjin?! Sir excuse you, you need to kiss right now😌🙏🏻

But not only the relationship between the two main characters, I also adore the bromance between Sun Ce and his brothers (and sister). They are just so beautiful😭🩷

So if you're a fan of Chinese historical fantasy/fiction with political themes, war, childhood friends, angsty slow burn queer romance (or better, if you read Danmei)—this one is for you. #chinesefiction #danmei #historicalfiction ⬇️ by @hellcathades

I'm so glad I found another 5⭐ read before the end of the year🎉

This book broke my heart, and then put the pieces back together again. I was surprised that this book is even darker than what I expected. Despite its cheerful-fluffy cover, the story explores traumas. It's indeed a stress-inducing story.

It tells a story about Cam and Mason. Cam is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, an MVP in his football team, a shining star that attracts everyone's attention—except it's all just a mask, a cover to hide his trauma. While Mason, the team's dear waterboy is a calm and grounded guy, his presence itself brings calm to the team, but little did they know—Mason's inner self is a mess, a broken boy beyond repair.

Cam was interested in Mason—merely because Mason is cute. When Cam openly asked him out, Mason rejected. But somehow, Mason ended up become Cam's tutor and then they started to learn about each other.

It's actually very heavy to read, I keep reminding myself to breathe because the way author wrote those scenes really affect me in some way. The stress and the trauma of seeing a teenage (or worse, a kid) being groomed and manipulated from my POV as an adult is terrifying. It also gives me an understanding how (most of the time) a groomed/manipulated person/victim of abuse usually think highly of their abuser. I was literally sobbing because I can't imagine how awful it is to be treated like that as a kid.

But I'm glad that Cam and Mason always there for each other. I love how Cam is actually a very sweet, loving and considerate person. And Mason my dear boy, he deserves the world for real🥲🖤

I was ecstatic when I received an email telling me I got the ARC, and this book is ✨good✨

— Dex Weller was the Devil, and he touched me like I was sacred, like it was some form of worship, so what the f*ck did that make me?

I would say it's a slice of life with dual timeline (and honestly that made me anxious the whole time). It focuses on Jonah & Dex past, the things happened to their childhood that shaped their current self. The things that make them who they are and how they act around others.

It also delves in heavier topics such as suicide and child abuse/molest, which successfully made me emotional. I cried idk how many times because of this book🥲

It's more of a character-driven story (which normally I avoid) so the plot feels very slow (it's a me problem, really) but it's clever! And the twist?! I didn't expect that! I also don't really like dual POV, and again it's a me problem🥲I like to act out as the characters in my head when I read a book, and I don't like to switch personality every 2 chapters. BUT, worry not, if you don't have problem with dual POV, the author executed this in the best way possible✨

And since it's a Dark ✨Romance✨, so yeah it's very heavy in romance (and sometimes too much for me, another me problem). However, Jonah and Dex successfully made me giggling and kicking my feet BECAUSE!!! How dare you say that Dex is a red flag?! He's the most devoted lover and their relationship IS THE CUTEST!!! Everytime Dex called Jonah "Baby", I blushed🙃Yes Dex, you give me that awkward butterfly in my stomach. He's a very caring person when it comes to Jonah. Both of them are very possessive towards each other. And the drama?! I devoured it🤌🏻

Also the spice...is spicing. It's dirty, it's hot, it's kinky but Dex is a consent king. Dex is a gentle person when it comes to Jonah and you can't change my mind🫵🏻and the after care?! Sir, find me a man like Dex🫵🏻
