Not everything that haunts you is meant to be feared.

Some things are meant to be faced.

A project can be fully built on paper and still feel like an unfinished world.

This was the point where Echoes stopped being just a release and became something bigger: a real night, in a real room, with real people.

Behind the scenes of Echoes release party in Trondheim - and one of the strangest parts of building an independent music project: finding out whether the world you imagined has a place outside your own head.

Every time you decide to build something that matters, one question eventually shows up.

What if this doesn’t work?

I know that one very well.

The full story is now on YouTube.

We are happy with the growl.
So here you go: “Yeah... more.”
And then:
“Okay, MORE.”

See how I make artistic decisions?

Four takes later, the growl finally escaped the studio and made it to the stage.

Apparently my fast rap has now been officially classified as Cthulhu.

Good news: Cthulhu just got a Cambridge certificate.

Bad news: my Cambridge is still imaginary. I only have Trinity.

Jokes aside, I genuinely love this part of making music. Sometimes people say something weird about what you’re doing ... another excuse to have fun.

So yes.

Cthulhu Fthang.

Whatever that means.

“That take was great”
Narrator “nope, it was not. Too far from the mic, dynamics all over the place…”

Absolutely nailed it (the take’s coffin)… and yes:
THAT’S THE ONE!

This is apparently what being a singer looks like

Apparently, singing involves a lot more arguing with your own vocal cords than I expected (yep, also with your microphone, but that’s a story for another time)

Before recording, every line needs a decision: chest, mask, growl, softer, harder…
The lyrics are already there. Now I have to make them sound like they mean something.

They said singing would be fun.

They forgot to mention bottles, corks, strange noises … and looking like an absolute weirdo before recording a single note.

Every performance begins long before the music does (and blowing into a bottle, I guess)

“One last version.”

I’ve said that more times than I’d like to admit.
Sometimes the hardest part of creating isn’t making something.

It’s deciding that it’s finally ready to leave your hands.

Every project begins with excitement.
Everything feels possible.

Then comes that one decision that refuses to leave you alone.

It’s rarely about music. It’s about learning when to trust yourself

Sometimes you step away hoping the answer will find you.

Mine didn’t.
But looking out of the window reminded me that not everything beautiful follows the rules.

Maybe that’s why instinct matters
