ask yourself, “what’s the rush?”

I’ve always been a big advocate for slow mornings and a believer that haste makes waste.

this is one of my favorite bisaya phrases growing up because growing up in nyc and in a Filipino household, there was always this sense of pressure to be productive, perform, and achieve many goals.

All can still be possible to do while slowing down too. Something that my husband and I love to do together is eat at the dining table, enjoying our meal, without having to rush anywhere. No plans or itineraries other than eating the food we prepared.

the rainy weather was so relaxing as we listened to the raindrops hit our skylights.

The next time you find yourself rushing or feeling overwhelmed with doing daily activities, take a moment to pause and always remember this bisaya phrase:

ayaw pagdali-dali (don’t rush)
hinay-hinay ug pahuway (slow down and rest)

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! 💧 ☕️
Did you know that zojirushi has more than just rice cookers?! 🍚

@zojirushiamerica has its first ever GoCafe Experience pop-up in NYC to celebrate their brand new GoCafe Mug collection 🎉

They have so many pretty colors (I ended up getting this gradient blue bottle!) and you get 20% off all month long in October for in person purchases only!

☕️ you’ll receive a free @cafegrumpy coffee voucher and fan when you do the activations (see how lightweight the bottle is compared to other insulated bottles, keeps liquids hot for up to 17 hours and cold for even longer! Plus it’s extremely leak proof)

🛍️ you’ll receive a free tote bag that has a cool bottle compartment, stickers, fan, and the free coffee voucher when you purchase any of the 11 colors and 4 sizes available.

It’s a free pop-up regardless even if you just wanted to check it out 🥰

I’m a sucker for drinkware LOL and this pretty bottle adds to my cozy collection. so if you’re in nyc, definitely swing by during your commute or leisure.

📍Grand Central Terminal
Graybar Passage
89 E. 42nd st, NYC

⏰ 11am-7pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays including October 19th, 24th, and 30th this month only.

salamat kaayo (thank you so much) @zojirushiamerica ❤️

OMG!!! my very first brand trip was with @organicvalley in Ithaca, NY and it truly felt like a dream come true!

As a Type 1 Diabetic/LADA, clean ingredients are everything to me. I can’t wait to start recreating my favorite Filipino dishes using their organic products to show we can still enjoy the cultural comfort foods we love while taking care of our bodies! 🇵🇭

From visiting the breathtaking and historic @tremancenter surrounded by the picturesque autumn foliage, to visiting the lovely Knapp family at @cobblestonevalleyfarm , this trip was unforgettable and eye-opening. Im so grateful!

We met the happiest pasture-raised cows, learned how to milk, and dove deep into compost (it smelled SO fresh, no joke).

I met incredible fellow creators and human beings who are so passionate and great at what they do. I was in awe 🥹🐄🌾 By the farewell dinner, I was an absolute mush and totally teared up 😭

at the end of the day, you can’t make great food without great ingredients and farmers. After learning more about the daily chores and life on a farm, I have so much more respect for these families. 🧑‍🌾💚

When you buy Organic Valley, you are supporting family farms to be able to farm the way they want to farm, so they can have the kind of life they want to have.

These are just some snippets of the entire field trip experience, so I’ll most likely sprinkle some more farm magic here and there as I reminisce ✨

thank you so much again @organicvalley 💚

have you been to an actual dairy farm before?

salamat kaayo 🌸

I have been putting this off for the LONGEST and now I’m ready to finally design my cozy work from home office space as a rehab therapist, biophilic designer, and Filipina-American creator. 🧠🌿🇵🇭

My current workspace is functional, but it’s missing that true cozy feeling that I love, to match how we’ve decorated the rest of our home!

I’m officially redesigning it to better support my body (as an occupational therapist and recreational therapist by trade, ergonomics are non-negotiable) and my mind 🥰

so I’ll be looking through furniture, organizing and productivity tools for the desk itself, more cozy lighting lamps, adding a thocky keyboard (ohhhh my ASMR brain), and other home office decor to spice it up! Maybe even having a huge visual calendar as well.

one of my biggest dreams is to have my own nature-infused sanctuary where I can finally hang my own art and down the line, finally integrate a mini mobile aquaponics system to go with our plants! shoutout to @dropthebeetfarms for their amazing mobile aquaponics designs! 🐠

what are some of your favorite work from home must haves?

🌱 if you’re also into cozy spaces, lighting, and building your work from home space, follow along to watch the transformation unfold!✨

salamat kaayo! 🌸

this is one of the most beautiful tarts I’ve seen!

@loveletterbakeri is a lovely home bakery by Kathleen located in Queens. She recently dropped this mango float sticky rice tart out and it was the perfect treat to use for my husband’s birthday 🥭

It has a subtle hint of sweetness from the mangoes and cream, the crust is crisp, and the sticky rice is nice, soft and chewy. The presentation is so pretty!

I thought her version of this dessert was delicious and it’s nice to see variations of this receive across Asian cultures ♥️

I highly recommend to check love letter bakeri out whenever you need some tarts and cookies for yourself, for family and friends or for an event (her cookies are some of the best I’ve ever had!) I’m always so happy to support local small businesses, especially asian entrepreneurs!

Also dropped some bisaya phrases here for you! Have you used these phrases before? I usually love saying “humot” to describe scents!

when was the last time you slowed down to enjoy breakfast, brunch, and the natural sunlight in your home?

my ideal breakfast usually includes hard boiled eggs (love the organic valley ones!), side of hot sauce and different seasonings, a toasted sourdough melt, even a soup because it’s fall season!!

bisaya phrase of the day 🇵🇭
“lami ang pamahaw, hayag nga adlaw, ug ikaw”
(delicious breakfast, a bright day, and you)

what are some of your breakfast staples?

keep reading to learn 8 bisaya words that you can use for a morning routine. Happy First day of Fall season! my favorite!!!! 🍂🍁

Did you know that preparing hard boiled eggs can be a relaxing activity in itself?

as a non-clinical OT and recreational therapist, I love looking at our daily habits through a sensory lens, especially ASMR style!

Even a task as simple as meal prepping hard-boiled eggs can be a relaxing and grounding routine to calm your mind and body before a busy day.

of course, here are 8 Bisaya words to add to your vocabulary:

1. buntag (boon-tag) - morning

2. pamahaw (pah-ma-how) - breakfast

3. pahuway (pah-hoo-why) - to rest or pause

4. lami (lah-mee) - delicious. Love using different spices too like @djablosauce

5. itlog (eet-log) - egg 🥚 especially when using my favorite @organicvalley eggs. The quality and rich flavor make a simple breakfast feel extra special.

6. init (ee-nit) - hot/warm

7. hinay-hinay (hee-nye-hee-nye) - slow down/take it easy.

8. panitan (pah-nee-tan) - to peel

🌱 If you’re looking for a cozy space to learn beginner friendly bisaya while picking up mindful, evidence-based therapy routines for your daily life, I’d love to have you join our little community here.

don’t lose yourself and don’t give up!
what’s meant to be will be 🥹

this was the first time in a long time that I finally got to draw again and it was all because I was so inspired by @organicvalley and the amazing farmers that make the co-op so special 💚

we were at the lovely @tremancenter which is a lovely sanctuary designed to foster environmental and social change, health, well-being, the arts and spirituality. One of the founders, Leslie, laid out brown paper for us to draw on! 🤩

if you didn’t know, organic valley is an independent farmer-owned cooperative comprising around 1,500 small family farms. Which means it’s entirely owned by the farmers who milk the cows, tend the land, and care for their animals! 🙌

it’s been 9 months since I’ve started taking content creation seriously and it makes me so happy 🥹 organic valley was the very first brand that kicked started my journey too. I love having creative self expression, storytelling, educating, and to share other people’s stories.

Best of all, I haven’t forgotten all the other parts of me either. Whether it’s bringing in my therapist background, my love for movement, my admin brain, my artistic nature, my biophilic and entrepreneurial spirit - it all comes together in a unique way.

it was also the first time where people actually know about aquaponics too!! I usually get “huh?!” when I mention the topic but this amazing team shared my love and support for being an aspiring urban farmer at home in nyc LOL 🥹

I’m just a city girl with green dreams, you know what I mean?

🌱 follow for more about my first brand trip with organic valley, their amazing farmers, the beautiful people I met, and more about a proud Filipina-American New Yorker who is making her dreams come true ❤️

when was the last time you stopped and appreciated the little things around you?

for me, it’s eating a simple breakfast, enjoying my iced coffee with @organicvalley sweet cream creamer, or cozy dinner with my husband at home on our favorite dining room table, appreciating the sunlight and eachother’s presence.

The next time you find yourself rushing or feeling overwhelmed with doing daily activities, take a moment to pause and always remember this bisaya phrase 🇵🇭:

kalipay sa ginagmay (joy in the little things)
ug pasalamat sa kinabuhi (and grateful for life)
