living in airplane mode 🛩️✨🤍

i did it 🥹 somewhere between way too much caffeine, the endless flash cards, and more tears than i’d like to admit, i become a flight attendant. and honestly, i still can’t believe this life is mine.

deciding to bet on myself was scary, messy, and so incredibly worth it. it meant starting over, packing up my life, trusting the process, and showing up ready for whatever came my way. training pushed us all in so many ways i never expected. long days, big emotions, sneaky moments of self-doubt. but it showed us exactly what we’re capable of and more. i’m beyond proud of myself and everyone who earned their wings. it’s no small feat.

nothing about this was done alone. i’ll always cherish the late nights studying and running through drills, and the nights catching a break at our weekend washateria runs🍹it truly takes a village, and i’m beyond grateful for mine. from classmates who became family, to our core instructors who believed in us unconditionally, to friends and family who supported me through it all.

all of the moments of “how” and “what if” led me here, one step closer to the life i’ve been dreaming about for a long time. i can’t wait to welcome you aboard and see you in the friendly skies ✈️

a couple weeks ago i had to say goodbye to my sweet angel sugar 🤍🐾🪽
it was, without a doubt, the hardest thing i’ve ever had to do in my life, and while my heart is heavy, i’m grateful for that heaviness. there’s a quote from winnie the pooh that perfectly encapsulates this experience, “how lucky am i to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” 🤍

sugar gave us an incredible 17 years filled with so much joy and love. i couldn’t imagine a dog more perfect for my mom and myself. the bond the three of us shared is the most beautiful thing i’ve ever felt, and i will always cherish the love and sweetness i gained from it.

sugar and i grew up together, we got her when i was 8 years old and i knew she was the one from the moment i saw her and she wouldn’t stop gnawing on my thumb. she had a personality i haven’t come across in any other dog and every time i looked into those precious eyes i knew she was so much smarter and more clever than she let on. her name suited her for all of her sweetness but by all means she was also the sassiest little white fluffball you’d meet. not enough pets? time for food? trust, she’d let you know.

anyone who ever met sugar knows she had so much love to give (if you were on her good side). she always knew exactly what anyone around her needed. her empathy, comfort, and connection guided me and was there for me throughout every heartbreak, every stressor, every bad day. my heart hurts thinking about not holding her on my chest ever again, but i know she’s well taken care of by whoever is around her now.

i’ve heard people talk about the concept of a “soul dog” — a dog that matches your soul perfectly, that sees you as you are, and that you build a bond with beyond affection and loyalty. sugar, i am so lucky to have grown up with you and have had you by my side this long… us two little girls just growing up together. i am certain that you were the most soul aligned dog there could have ever been for me 🫶🏼
