ദേഷ്യം / DESHYAM (Anger)

~ Anger is something your body is saying, but you don’t want to listen.

It does not always have a single source.
Sometimes it comes from fear, the fear of losing, of being abandoned, of not being enough.
Sometimes from betrayal, disappointment, uncertainty, or simply being unable to make a decision.
It can come from places we don’t always recognise, even within ourselves.

Yet we often choose not to express it.
We convince ourselves that everything is fine, burying the feeling deeper each time, until it begins to pile up like a mountain. It doesn’t always need to be seen in the eyes or heard in the voice.
The body has its own way of speaking, through tension, restraint, discomfort, and gestures we barely notice, it reveals what we refuse to acknowledge.

DESHYAM is an observation of that feeling… the anger that exists beneath body and reveals when we are too blind to see them ourselves.

All it asks is for us to pause for a moment, and listen.

Symbols of beauty, grace, and femininity often become more than adornment, they become veils we are expected to wear. They shape the way we are perceived while quietly concealing who we are. Over time, we begin to shrink boundaries to those pretty veils. And as the veil falls away, what emerges is the power that always existed beneath it.

~Grief rarely ends with loss. More often, it begins there~

Most women are expected to mourn quietly, to shrink themselves into traditions they never chose, and to carry the weight of expectations disguised as “respect”. Every glance, every remark, every unwritten rule becomes another wound they are expected to endure with grace.
Over time, it is no longer the absence of a loved one that defines them, but the presence of a society that refuses to let them heal. The first loss was inevitable. The rest were inflicted by the living.
