Maybe it’s because I’ve always imagined 50 as this kind of magical milestone.

I’ve got this feeling that something really good is waiting for me in this next chapter.

And honestly, I already have a pretty amazing life. I’m incredibly grateful for it.

But I’m still growing. Still changing. Still figuring things out.

I don’t have all the answers.

I’m just really curious to find out what happens next.

So I thought I’d bring you along for the ride.

If you’re in this season of life too, what are you curious about? by @hello_mrs_smith

✨ BEFORE → ROUTINE → AFTER ✨

She didn’t just want “better hair.”

She wanted to feel good about her hair again.

BEFORE:
• Dandruff + an unhappy scalp
• Oily AND dry - WTF?! 😅
• Thinning hair + slow hair loss
• Dry, damaged, splitting ends
• Rough, crunchy, “horse hair” texture
• Hard to manage
• And, honestly… not feeling very confident

Then we focused on the health of the scalp AND the hair - not just masking the symptoms.

THE ROUTINE:
✨ A customised routine for her hair and scalp needs
✨ Consistency
✨ Nourishment
✨ Hydration
✨ Scalp care
✨ And giving it TIME to work

AFTER:
🤍 Soft
🤍 Silky
🤍 Shiny
🤍 Easy to manage
🤍 A more balanced-feeling scalp
🤍 Healthier-looking hair
🤍 No more dry, damaged ends

And the biggest transformation?

CONFIDENCE.

Because your hair isn’t just something you wash and style.

Your scalp is the foundation your hair grows from. When we look after the scalp and give the hair what it actually needs - moisture, nourishment, protection and the right cleansing routine, we can support healthier-looking hair from the roots through to the ends.

And there’s something about loving your hair again that makes you want to look after yourself again too.

Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s simply taking 10 minutes to wash your hair properly, massage your scalp, give your ends some love and actually enjoy the process.

Your hair is the crown you never take off. 👑

So… trust the process.

Your hair journey doesn’t have to look like someone else’s. Your routine should be customised to YOU.

Want to know what your hair actually needs?

💌 Book a FREE hair consultation with me and I’ll help you work out what’s going on with your hair + scalp and recommend a customised routine to suit your needs.

Nearly 50, and honestly? I’ve never felt better in my own skin. 🤍

In my body. In my mindset. In the woman I’ve grown into.

I don’t know what it is about this stage of life. Maybe it’s the years of lessons, the things you’ve been through, the things you’ve finally let go of. Maybe it’s realising that you don’t have to explain yourself, prove yourself or worry so much about what other people think.

Or maybe it’s simply a contentment that comes from knowing yourself in a way you never have before.

Whatever it is, I’m here for it.

I don’t have life all figured out, and I’m certainly not here to tell anyone else how to live theirs. But I’ve lived, I’ve learned, I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve gathered a little wisdom along the way.

And I have a feeling this next chapter is going to be something pretty special.

So, if you’re in your 40s, approaching 50, or already on the other side, come along for the ride.

Maybe you’re feeling this too. Maybe you’re still finding your way there. Either way, you’re welcome here.

Let’s see what this next chapter has in store. ✨

Dementia. Such a fascinating and incredibly cruel disease. ❤️

I’ve just spent some time with my Nana and Poppa, and I always find myself reflecting on Nana and her journey with dementia.

Her progression has been relatively slow. She’s still a box of birds, still a social butterfly, still very much my Nana. Just a little more forgetful, occasionally quite shitty with people, and the swearing!! 😂 I never heard her swear my entire life until now!

My kids absolutely adore her. They think she’s hilarious and can chat with her for ages.

And sometimes, I have to admit, I actually love this version of my Nana too.

I can tell her absolutely anything, and she listens with such genuine interest, awe and amazement. Like everything I’m sharing is the most fascinating thing she’s ever heard.

Of course, there’s the repetitiveness too. The same questions over and over. But you just answer again, because to her it’s a new conversation.

What fascinates me is how sometimes it’s almost like she’s seeing the world through the eyes of a child. Experiencing ordinary things with the wonder of seeing them for the very first time.

Can you imagine that? Finding wonder in things the rest of us barely notice anymore?

I know dementia can be heartbreaking, especially for those caring for someone living with it. But amongst the difficult moments, there really can be beautiful ones too.

Anyway, these are some flowers from Nana’s wonderfully random garden, which I always love wandering around. And of course, our usual selfie together. ❤️

Perhaps a little reminder to slow down and find more wonder in the ordinary things. 🌸 by @hello_mrs_smith

Some mums have a village. Some mums are the village. 🤍

We’ve raised our family without extended family living nearby, so we’ve never really had those regular breaks or the extra hands that some families are lucky enough to have close by.

And while I’ve never done this completely alone, I’ve spent a lot of years being the one at home, raising our kids, homeschooling and creating a life around our family.

It’s just been our version of family life.

I think motherhood looks so different for all of us. Some have a whole village around them, others build their own along the way, and some seasons look a little quieter than others.

There’s no right or wrong way. Just different ways of doing life.

If you’re a mum who’s been the village, I see you. 🤍

Tell me, have you had a village around you, or have you been building one as you go? by @hello_mrs_smith

I love having different things in my life that I can build and grow alongside everything else I do. ❤️

And that’s exactly how I see my MONAT business.

An additional income stream that fits around my family, my horses, my photography and all the other things that fill my days.

I get to share products I genuinely love, help other women with their haircare and build a little business of my own along the way.

It doesn’t have to be complicated, and you certainly don’t have to have it all figured out before you start.

Maybe you’re just looking for a little extra breathing room financially, or something of your own to grow.

If you’ve ever been curious about what I do, you’re always welcome to ask!

At some point, you have to stop overthinking it and just put yourself out there. 🤍

Post the thing. Share the story. Talk about what you love. Let people get to know you.

You can’t grow your presence in the online space if you’re always waiting until you feel ready.

I’m figuring it out as I go, and that’s kind of the point.

Your reminder to show up before you feel ready.

Now go post the thing, sis. 👇🏼

Nearly 50 and FINALLY wearing the short cut-off denim shorts with confidence! 🙌🏼

Where was this confidence 20 years ago when I was probably 20kgs lighter?! 🫠🫠🫠

Seriously though… isn’t it funny how we can spend so much of our younger years worrying about how our bodies look, what people think, and whether we can pull something off?

And then all of a sudden you just start caring a whole lot less about all that.

My body has changed, I’m definitely not the size I was in my 20s, but I feel so much more comfortable in my own skin now.

And I LOVE that for me. ❤️

Here’s to wearing the shorts, putting on the swimmers, taking the photos and actually enjoying the body we’re living in!

Tell me, does confidence really get better with age? Because I’m starting to think it does! 👇🏼 by @hello_mrs_smith

Think about it.

The cafe you love. Your favourite skincare. That amazing pair of leggings. The shampoo that’s made such a difference to your hair.

We share recommendations all the time.

And that’s really where my haircare business started for me.

I found products I genuinely loved, experienced a change in how I cared for my hair and scalp, and wanted other women to experience that too.

Then there’s the business side.

Learning how to share, connect with customers, build relationships and earn commissions from sales.

It’s something you can learn, even if you’ve never had a business before.

There’s more involved than simply recommending a shampoo, of course, but you don’t need to know everything on day one.

Curious about how it works?

Comment HAIR BIZ and I’ll share the details with you. xx by @hello_mrs_smith
