I so want you to grow up. Let us plant seeds. Things. Plants. Seedlings.Grow food. Grow flowers. Sit under trees we have planted. Trees that were even here a long time. Long before me or you. Its all about bullying. It hasn't been given the "hollywood" treatment. It is an epic. It is long. It is full of stories and images of how there is an enemy roaming the world.But who is that enemy?Who do we know that has 800+ military bases across the globe?Which of our enemies has a "get out of jail free card" for all its crimes? For all of its carbon emission crimes? For all of its air, soil and water contamination crimes? Who is the bully that Australia allies with? Hello. Its me. C'est moi.I dont have much to add here. Except I like drawing people with flags and placards.This one says "hello".Some people have signs that say " I oppose genocide" (they have been arrested in the UK for that!) Other people have signs that say other human things, good things, kind of straight forward things like "ceasefire" and "stop killing children".Another might read "stop selling weapons"...Thats quite a straightforward statement to make...when you think about it, we all of us carry stories, passed down to us about previous conflicts, experiences of war time. The conflicts here. Or those overseas. Many are ongoing occupations like that in g a z a and elsewhere.( Or we carry the health issues, changes within us. Look up epigenetics.)Anyway dates coming up, should you feel the urge to make a sign and share it...as follows. Up high, collecting the fruit of the olive tree. Brandishing a rake, hanging on to the badly drawn ladder, wearing a knobbly, ill fitting handknit.It is a good day to draw.Just playing with sfumato technicque, drawing, layering, erasing...dry pigment...its how I like it.This idea of some ones, someone harvesting olives didnt quite make it into my soon to be printed picture book. But rickety ladders are interesting to draw, as are leafy tree canopies, laden with fruit. And buckets too...By the way it has been bucketing down.Yes, definitely a good day for drawing.Xxx by @hello_nieuw

Dr Jehad is still volunteering in 2 different hospitals. He never left his post even when bombs were falling near him. He has a daughter and expects a new baby this August. Let's stand with Dr Jehad.
