Do you tend to follow the “rules” of gardening? I admit I do not for the most part…I am more of a try to fit as many things as possible in a bed and experiment kind of person. For instance here I have iris planted along the wall in the back that gets enough sun in early spring to bloom well, followed by roses and foxglove filling in later in the season. Then in late summer the Japanese anemone take over with catmint and scabiosa making the bees happy in the front of the border. It’s a little wild and unkempt but I find that is what makes the flowers sing for me, the poetry they make when they weave together ✨

The first rose to bloom of the season and I can’t believe how early it is! Bathsheba wins the prize this time 🏆

Some flowers for you 🌸 by @hellobardeaux

Almost too precious to clip a few sprigs to bring inside but I can’t help myself, it’s the best scent in the world! I can’t tell you how long it has taken for this little shrub to start to take off…maybe 5 years? So slow to grow but worth the wait 💞 by @hellobardeaux
