We all could kick and scream today, but I’m choosing not to — because I practice The Four Agreements and I will not take the decision to re-elect Trump personally. Doing so will jeopardize my own healing and personal development.

However, I woke up thinking a lot about the women in my life: my mom, my bonus mom, my sisters, my aunt, my grandmother and my closest girlfriends. And then I cried. I gave myself space to grieve and become fearful, if just for a moment. And then I became intentional.

I am privileged to come from a lineage where women are the focus and the men in our family uphold us in that honor, fighting and protecting us against any patriarchal oppression. I’ve always been told by the men in my life that I can do anything they can do. And trust me, I ran with that.

But I do know that not every girl and woman has been granted the same experience and I am truly so sorry.

So in hopes to send you all some love, high vibes and comfort your way, I will give you all some words of wisdom and testaments that I was raised on, in the hopes that it’ll help you reframe your mindset about this decision, deprogram and liberate yourselves.

1. At your deepest core, lead a life rooted in self-discovery and independence.
2. Break away from cycles of expectation that may restrict your personal and professional growth, especially if you work in a male dominated industry. Do what you can when you can.
3. Claim your own narrative and build a life based on choice, passion, and individual goals.
4. Be self-sufficient ALWAYS
5. Know that you CAN and SHOULD decenter men in your life, without being indifferent towards them
6. Self-Worth belongs to you & you only. It can be enjoyed by others, but it doesn’t need to be validated by anyone.
7. Your femininity is perfectly designed.
8. And lastly, if you ain’t got haters in this world, you ain’t doing nothing right.

Haven’t done one of these in a while, so let’s get it! stop making excuses, hotties. next time you find yourself in the throes of examining their dusty behavior. remember these ways of being I swear by, especially as we approach the god-forsaken “cuffing season” 😑

1. you are not beholden to anyone who does not value the time & energy you give over
2. there is no one “busier” than the person not intended for you
3. low effort & inconsistency requires you to abandon. jump ship effective immediately — we don’t accept anyone who doesn’t accept us
4. You are only in control of your actions & reactions
5. Only the weak minded & insecure will breadcrumb + bullshit you to infinity and beyond
6. Remind yourself your worth isn’t dictated by another’s attention or lack of attention towards you, go touch some grass and live your life. #janeofalltrends #lifecoach by @hellocourtney25

my innermost knowings of 2022

✨ goals are personal, navigate them alone
✨ have zero expectations, take everyone at face value — see what you’re shown
✨ unjust reactions are mirrored trauma & it’s your responsibility to unpack it. You don’t have to be a nice person, just a good one.
✨ society concepts shouldn’t dictate your moves in life and/or lifestyle - do what feels most authentic to you & move accordingly
✨ don’t let yourself down, work overtime in becoming self-disciplined
✨ you should be the sole option in romantic pursuits and relationships. There should be an even exchange of interest shown & investment given — any treatment outside of that is unworthy of your time.
✨ be responsible with your finances. remove judgment about being seen as “rich or well-off”. It’s a mindset in lack & is not serving you. being comfortable financially makes life easier.
✨ The community you create in your 30’s is very important — this community will one day be your village. They’ll be the godparents of your future children or the shoulders carrying your burden when it becomes too much at times. love, nurture & respect your community
✨TRAVEL. seriously, stop making excuses. just do it.
✨ And lastly, you’re fine. drink your water. you’re seriously going to be better than you could ever imagine.
