this piece is called *death by mcdonald’s*

i’ve been vegan for about a decade now, but i’ve always tried not to preach. i’d rather live a life of attraction than promotion.

but i’ve lived next to a mcdonald’s for about a year now, and it honestly boggles my mind that there is almost always a nonstop line.

when i think about the amount of highly processed food being consumed, the health implications, and the sheer number of animals killed to keep that demand going, it’s hard not to sit with some uncomfortable realities.

i don’t judge people for eating mcdonald’s. i get it. life is busy, it’s convenient, it’s familiar, and sometimes you just need something quick.

but i also believe there are other options. this painting is really just me processing that contradiction: the convenience, the consumption, the animals, and the cost we don’t always see. 💀🍟🍔☠️ by @hellohappyvegan

I created this painting a few days after the devastating floods in Nepal. At first, I was simply splash painting my interpretation of the Nepal flag.🇳🇵

but when I stepped back, it felt like something was missing. the next day, I added blue to represent the many tears that have been shed around the world, and continue to be shed, by those affected by this horrific disaster.

this painting is a small expression of grief, love, and remembrance. I continue to pray for all of the families and communities affected by the floods, and for everyone who is still facing the aftermath.

may they feel comfort, strength, and hope in the days ahead. 🤍🙏🏼 by @hellohappyvegan

last week was a special one. @mariod91 & i finally ventured a little outside of austin to @krausesprings & then discovered the gem that is @jesterkingfarm 🐐. @captjackpal came to visit & we ate a bunch of good vegan food, saw some bats 🦇, went shopping & just cherished being together since it’s been forever we’ve hung out in person!

a little adventure, good company & some much needed r&r before i start a new semester at a new grad school next week. 🤍 by @hellohappyvegan

when the jersey girls get together (@katiemiscioscia ur a jersey girl at heart), being silly & having fun comes naturally, so of course we made a music video to bon jovi’s livin’ on a prayer! 💃🏻 it’s a song about holding on together no matter what, & it was one of my mom’s favorites. 🤍

september 7 will mark 9 years since my mom passed away 🥺. moments like these, having fun and spending time with loved ones (grandma marie, 95, God bless her), feel so very special. we’ve got each other and that’s a lot for love. 🙏🏼 taken in Denver, Colorado by @hellohappyvegan

seeing the vaca music video trend reminds me of this one we made back in 2023. 🤍

“A couple of years ago when I first heard “Shy Away” by @twentyonepilots I knew I wanted to make a fun dance video. Why? Idk, but during our last trip we finally did it! This silly video was so much fun to film and edit, and I hope you enjoy it. 🤠” — old caption
