Do you see me FAN-BROING like crazy? My goodness this was a powerful moment for everyone.

Tears were shed when my brother Ernest Crim III @crimsclasspod (our favourite Black History teacher) —- who was BANNED from Meta due to a stupid hacking situation and lost half a million followers —— gave his powerful keynote at this year’s #StaySensitized Conference 2026 (aka “Give a C💩re” conference as @ms_p_hall coined it).

Thankfully he is back on Meta. FOLLOW @crimsclasspod and consider paying (like I have happily done for the last 3 years) to read his premium Substack.

This white sister @livelymidlife knows what’s up and we (racialized folks AND white folks) need more people like her.

I’ve been invited to speak in a lot of predominantly white spaces both in education and in corporate spaces and I believe more and more of our white family in humanity are going to step up like this sister to do the difficult work to make things better.

Just yesterday a female friend of mine experienced this behaviour right in front of me. A couple of weeks ago another woman in my life told me she experienced it on the phone. And yet another woman in my life told me she experiences it often in her own relationships.

I won’t go into the specifics of yesterday but I’ll just say that a man took up both physical and conversational space during the interaction with her. She told me they were friends, but I also saw a look in her face that told me she was trying to navigate this situation in a way that was friendly, but sadly made her comfort less of a priority.

I let her know after the interaction that I was a couple of feet away, monitoring everything that was being said as well as his behaviour and was seconds away from interrupting it, had she not resolved it on her own. I did not want to treat her like she was some damsel in distress who needed my rescuing, but I also didn’t want her to feel like she was alone.

She thanked me enthusiastically for catching everything that was happening and for being so close and attuned, but also acknowledged agreed that she was trying to navigate an uncomfortable situation.

In hindsight I realize I believe I could have done even more. Sadly, I’m sure there will be many more opportunities to do even better. I agree with @thebrittanyrambo that we need to encourage the women and girls in our life to be ‘difficult’ but I’m realizing even more how much the onus is on men like me to confront and interrupt and work with other men to try to prevent this kind of behaviour from happening at all. I try to do this in personal conversations as well as when I deliver my #ManUp presentation at schools for grade 6 to 12 boys. I am still a work in progress. #staysensitized #hellohope

750+ students at St Joe’s High School @sjo_jags in the @we_are_smcdsb . In just a few years, they’re gonna be running the show and to speak to their hearts about important issues that we need to stay sensitized about is such an honour. What coolness! I’ve had so many people say I needed to meet @shaunboothe over the years. We tried to connect but didn’t succeed past a DM. Then @ms_p_hall says “Yo. You guys need to link.” And because none of her recommendations have ever proven to be an L I’m like “Sheeesh, this really does needs to happen”.

One roti later and I had a new brother. With all of the thousands of people that you inspire on the daily all over the continent, I was so grateful that you came to the Stay Sensitized Concert @shaunboothe. Glad we got to have the reunion between the three of us and that you also got to meet the only brother who touches my audio files ➡️ @solarecordings . Let’s keep building. Happy birthday to my brother @therealofficialmrwhite Anthony “This is what I do” White. 2 1/2 years ago, we had some soul food in the heart of Detroit before a Tony Toni Toné concert to discuss maybe working together.

2 1/2 years later and we are almost done cooking up a delicious musical project and you and your amazing @dycofficial choir came all the way to Ajax Ontario for my conference. This is just the beginning.

Grateful for your life and grateful for your belief in children and desire to mentor them. Keep winning my brother. The world is better with you here. #StaySensitized #HelloHope.
