A new screensaver! Now no one has to know about my latest strange read. First saw this done by @yasumu.home

Tried tweaking the ragdoll to look more like Daikon, good enough for now. Also finally picked up a cover for my Kobo after years of abuse.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝗞𝗼𝗯𝗼 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿

1️⃣ Pick your image
Choose a high-res image if possible

2️⃣ Connect your Kobo
Plug your Kobo into your computer via USB.

3️⃣ Resize & format it
Use an e-reader screensaver website to resize your image to your Kobo’s screen dimensions (important for a clean fit) • I used https://www.ebookscreensaver.com

4️⃣ Convert to PNG/JPG
Make sure your file is in a supported format (PNG or JPG works best)

5️⃣ Find the screensaver folder
Go to: .kobo → screensaver
(If it doesn’t exist, create a folder named “screensaver”)

6️⃣ Drag & drop your images
Add your formatted images into the folder.

7️⃣ Eject & restart
Safely eject your Kobo and restart it.

💡 Tip: Black & white or high-contrast images look best on e-ink screens.

Finished this book a couple of weeks back. Chick flick and romcom-ish kinda book, and for some reason I thought there’s potential for it to be a channel 8 drama 😂

Beneath the dramatic plot, it actually dives into some deep topics around depression, suicide, relationships and marriage. Definitely not a book to read when in the midst of relationship or marital issues.

I like the contrast of the heavier themes with the humor sprinkled here and there. I think the author managed to explore emotional topics while still keeping the book lighthearted. I also loved the friendship that blossomed between two unlikely friends which is one of my favorite parts.

And here are some of my favorite quotes. I’m now back to re-reading Harry Potter whenever I get pockets of time!

There is no such thing as a happy place. Because when you are happy, everywhere is a happy place. And when you are sad, everywhere is a sad place.

A story can be beautiful not because of the way
it ends. But because of the way it’s written.

Having a mother helps you believe that everybody wants to hear every little thing you think.

A long overdue summary of my bunion surgery journey 👣

I’d lived with bunions for the longest time and put off doing anything about them for quite a while. But when they started getting painful during my runs and in cold weather, and were affecting my gait, I finally decided to bite the bullet and get surgery on both feet last November.

Wanted to document this because when I was researching bunion surgery in SG, I found it surprisingly hard to find personal experiences covering the whole process. I mostly relied on google reviews, which isn’t quite the same. I documented quite a bit of the journey in real time in my Highlights too.

This post summarizes my experience from consultations to surgery, recovery and costs. It’s not a cheap procedure so I’m immensely grateful that the costs were covered by my company insurance.

15 Sept was Daikon’s third birthday!

She celebrated her special day with yoghurt waffles and a new toy which she was hesitant about for an entire day, played with for 10 minutes, and then never touched again.

Our first baby and the one who taught us how to be cat pawrents for the very first time. She’s grown into the sassiest little princess, who can also be incredibly sweet. Her favourite things include head massages and being sung to.

We hope she knows just how loved she is everyday 🥹 by @hellokokoro

When “just one more plant” becomes a room of its own 🌿😂

These homeowners got creative with where they let their green babies shine — from sunny balconies and cosy study corners to the service yard, and even a whole room dedicated to them! 🤯

August passed by in a whirlwind. It was a month of big changes to our home and in some ways, our lifestyle too. Lots of decluttering, reorganising, and buying little things for the newborn. And of course, showering the two furbabies with lots of extra love as they experience all these changes alongside us. Praise God for this season of our lives.

Said bye to our beloved sofa which has served us well. We had four of these modular pieces and managed to sell them off in two sets.

Took a week off work to clear out the study, listed a couple of huge furnitures for sale, and tidied up the bomb shelter. And found out that a week wasn’t enough 😅

An intimate gender reveal between the two of us (and the two furbabies at home, of course).

The first trimester was taxing, both physically and emotionally, and for a period of time, the viability of the pregnancy was uncertain. I slept a lot, skipped a work trip, tried to slow down, and left everything we couldn’t control in God’s hands.

Funny enough, the first people to know the gender were actually the lovely teams at @elijahpies and @seaappleshop at new bahru. Thank you for holding onto our little secret before even we knew, and for making the surprise possible! by @hellokokoro
