This evolution was a wild ride, but there’s nothing better than when a room finally feels like the rom com set you’ve always wanted to live in. 😂

Follow me for more #beforeandafters! Excited for some big reveals and projects coming soon.

A lot of people ask me what I do, and honestly the answer is a little all over the place.

I work in marketing and social media, create wedding content(@southernweddingcontentcreator), paint, help others decorate, and spend a lot of my free time thrifting, antiquing, trying new restaurants, decorating my little rental apartment, and convincing my friends to buy things for their houses they probably weren’t planning on buying.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know this apartment has kind of become my ongoing project over the last year and a half. And honestly, it’s taught me a lot… and exposed how bad I am at painting trim. Lol

I think sometimes we treat parts of our lives like they’re temporary waiting rooms. Like we shouldn’t invest too much because it’s not the final version yet. Not the dream house, not the dream job, not the finished story.

But what I’ve learned is that life is happening right now.

Home becomes home when you love and invest in it. Cities become meaningful when you participate in them. Friendships deepen when you show up over and over again.

The beautiful life we want is usually built slowly through ordinary days, shared meals, good work, creativity, hospitality, conversations at Taco Mama, and the people around us.

Anyways, this page is really just a collection of all the things I love — Birmingham, beautiful spaces, old things, storytelling, my people, creativity, and finding the Lord’s goodness in ordinary life.

I’m excited to share more of that— and thanks for being my friends on this little app! It’s been really really fun.

And shoutout to @perryhancockphoto for literally being the most talented photographer. So good! taken in Birmingham, Alabama by @hellolindsaymiller

If you’ve had one of those days, come rearrange the house with me for a minute. This felt sooooo good to refresh everything 🤎

There’s something about moving around pillows, changing a piece of art, or making one little corner feel different that somehow makes everything feel better. Maybe it’s just me!

Also, if you couldn’t already tell… big fan of @kingcottonfabrics_. So many of my favorite pillows and patterns come from their beautiful store, which makes the mixing and matching part especially fun.

Save this for a little inspo for your own “changing of the guard”.

Proof that a $5 Goodwill lampshade + the right fabric can completely change a room.

I found this shade over a year ago and knew it had way too much potential to leave it plain. Then I found the prettiest fabric at King Cotton (@kingcottonfabrics_) and took it to Shannon at @lampologie, who somehow turns lampshade making into an art form.

Watching her make this was so satisfying, and such a good reminder that sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference in a room.

I’ve actually taken one of Shannon’s lampshade classes before, and now I’m convinced every lamp in my house needs a custom shade.

If you’ve been wanting to add more pattern, color, or personality to a room, start with the lampshade, friends!!!

I think I found the holy grail of Southern hidden gems!!!!

Paris, Kentucky completely stole my heart 🥹 horse country, antique shops, the sweetest locals, and the kind of small-town charm that feels straight out of a Hallmark movie.

And @hotelthoroughbred made the whole trip. It is genuinely one of my favorite boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in and the perfect place to experience Paris.

If you love Southern road trips, charming small towns, antique shopping, and beautiful boutique hotels, put Paris, Kentucky on your list.

You guys loved watching Sheri from @sassyslipcovers work last time, so when my custom banquette needed to be finished before Homeworthy filming, she was my first call.

The whole look started with this gorgeous fabric from @kingcottonfabrics_ and Sheri brought it to life on a custom banquette built by @wholeheartconstruction.

Slipcover making is such a lost art, and she makes it look effortless every single time.

Go follow @sassyslipcovers + @kingcottonfabrics_ — two of my favorite Birmingham folks 😊🫶🏼 taken in Birmingham, Alabama by @hellolindsaymiller

Okay fineeee, twist my arm..I’ll show you the best fabric store in Alabama that I’ve been keeping secret for a year.

The real ones already know about King Cotton, but if you love beautiful interiors and haven’t spent an afternoon digging through their fabrics yet…consider this your sign!!

I came in with a mood board, approximately 4 projects to finish before Homeworthy arrived, and a whole lot of opinions. An hour later, we had fabric for nearly half my apartment—and I finally felt like it was all coming together.

And this was only the beginning. Next up: that custom bench with @sassyslipcovers 👀 taken in Birmingham, Alabama by @hellolindsaymiller
