Today marks 2 weeks since I had a Supra cervical hysterectomy. It’s not an easy thing to come clean about. People love to judge and to make assumptions about why a woman would ever have one. For me, an incredibly painful 13 day period and approximately 5 years of me thinking I had a hip and back fracture sealed the deal for me. I’m 38 years old, unmarried and since the age of 26, I stopped feeling the desire to become a mother. Perhaps it was the age I felt comfortable enough to be honest that I never (really) had the desire. It’s been a journey, full of worry, fear and ultimately relief. Tomorrow, I will slowly return to work. A new woman, full of hopes, desires and the willingness to evolve. Thank you for supporting me ❣️ taken in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany by @hellolisescott

Margate in Kent is still a huge contender for my next steps in life. For the moment, I’ve left Paris behind me and I’m back in London city looking for my next charge, trying to make that happen. I don’t know who’s going to employ me, in what country or what anything for certain looks like. I’m not mad at that status. It means I’m open. Split living has always been an idea of bliss. I went back to the motherland to figure things out: Opening up on what this next chapter might look like for me and how I’d like to show up for families moving forward. I’ve been a nanny for 18 years now and it takes quite some imagination to keep on top of what it means to co-parent and nurture a child. The more time I spent in London, the more I thought about it. Leaning into the idea of rotation jobs, one-off bookings and ultimately freelance work. I’d love to stay in Paris. It’s been the making of me as a woman but also, I’m not especially tied to anything anymore. I’m no longer afraid of a new adventure! July has been a right mixed bag 😵‍💫 A fortnight of highs, lows & mega anxiety 4 people passing away -WTF! A 67 hour work week and a trial for a job that I really want. I’ve come to discover that I’m a terrible over-thinker Ill prepared for a move in 7 weeks time And needing a break from socials more than ever. I’m not sure what my next chess move will be but, I’m also quite sure I’m going to suppress the need to declare it. by @hellolisescott

Global warming’s finest moments. Paris hit 55 degree Celsius pavement temperature and 42 whatever. London was cooler but the body sweat persisted to ruin my life. I had charges in both cities and one job interview. Darkened hotel rooms, private pools, public pools, jumping into the Seine. Melon! Melon! Melon! Sweaty dogs in bags, businesses with air conditioning. Girlfriends to laugh with and cry with. Ya Juicy Wee Tart! Most professional Nannie’s will try very hard not to catch feelings. It’s already a hot topic on whether or not caregivers should tell a charge that they love them. You aren’t their parent and you might not be a constant in their lives. I for one have witnessed and felt the total heartbreak of leaving a child after years and years of service & companionship. I cried for weeks and the child resorted to bed wetting. It’s since become clear to me that like romantic relationships, one doesn’t have much control over falling in love. You’ll know it when it creeps up on you and you find your self unbothered by their bogies being wiped on your cheek, their breakfast spoon covered in food and dribble being shoved into your mouth unannounced and finally, the “cough-crysplaining” directly in your face. Tolerating that wholeheartedly is when you know you love someone else’s baby and will protect them with your life. However you see it, this is an addition to my books that I rarely talk about and people book few and far between. I absolutely love it and if I had better execution skills, I’d do this full time. I plan restaurants, events, trips. Tell you the best supermarkets and shops to go in to. Pack your bags, unpack your bags, find you a cab, tuck you into bed… whatever you want! She 🙋🏾‍♀️ Sells 💶 Seashells 🐚 On the Seashore 🌊 My top 3 places to eat and drink and 2 concept stores @cafe.de.la.consigne (for people watching by the port) Good snax, not a full dinner. @bistrotchave.marseille It’s only been open for 8 months the owner is ex Verre Volé @longchamppalace Not to be confused with the actual palace, this place is packed with cool 30-somethings that love the hip-hop, sisterhood vibes. Food is seasonal and good but it gets slammed and you will have to wait on service. 🙃 @sarahespeute The tablecloths, cushions and other items are all made by a female collective in a delightfully, open space @jogging_marseille OK, the one hipster place everyone already knows about. But it’s a shop and they sell Salomons, Moschino, and still have stock of the discontinued Sundaze by Byredo. Run! taken in Calanque de Sormiou by @hellolisescott
