🌀 This is probably my favourite song off the EP - Breathe  
By the way it’s also my birthday today so that means you have to stream it at least 20 times.

I live for pop music, and it seemed weird that I never gave that side of me any attention alongside Cultdreams and Nervus.

I’ve always written pop songs ever since I was a kid, most of them will never see the light of day, but I’m glad these ones are getting their moment.

I wrote this song for LLOUIX but @cultdrums wanted it for Cultdreams so we decided to do 2 versions in a moment of Taylor Swift confidence.

So Sunken (LLOUIX’s version) and Sunken @cultdreamsband version is out today, and you can now listen to them back to back.

Funnily enough @katietavini @neildkennedy both worked on them.

I went for different vibes, different guitar tones, different vocal layering ideas on each one, and obviously my voice dropped a ton because Testosterone between recording the Cultdreams one and the LL one.

This was the song that made me start writing again after scrapping a full albums worth of solo music.

I’ve been finding it really strange that I’ve been doing this for so long but it only just feels like I’m getting started.

It’s kinda mad tomorrow is only actually the 3rd ever llouix show. We’ll be down at Gulliver’s in Manchester with @chloehawes01 and @mattycarlock for an early Sunday show, and we get to play Alpha Numb in full finally.

The big brother I’d always wanted. The one who made me feel seen and understood. The person I talked to every day of my life for 6 years.

The day Simon and me met in person for the first time we gushed over each other’s bands and decided we needed to tour purely just so we could hang out for a week and watch each others bands every night.

After that first tour Cultdreams / Apologies tour in 2017 we became inseparable and spoke everyday. We (not surprisingly at all) bonded over all the things that hurt. Simon just got it. Understood the pain. It always felt like we had our own bubble the second we closed the door in the studio.

Simon was so insanely talented and creative. Our favourite thing to do was yap about pedals, production and songwriting.

We bounced business and music ideas off each other constantly, showing each other our work projects and demos, which always kept me going in the toughest of times. They kept me going through some of the hardest times of my life.

I look back on the years we spent at gigs, on tour, dossing around in the studio and texting 24/7 with the most fondness and love in my heart.

The slightly bonkers studio sessions where the pots and pans became hats, when Martin gave me a haircut, when we started a band called Drowner with Joe despite having zero time for it. When we decided we should produce bands, but neither of us had a second spare and we lived across the world from each other. The music and the dreaming was the thing that always kept us going.
