If your kids are anything like mine, then you know summer slide is REAL. This year, we found the perfect solution to keep skills fresh in a FUN way! School is almost over here and we already tested out the workbook and online platform and we love them!

‼️😎Comment SUMMER and I’ll DM the Pre-K to 6th grade links to you! There are even options for middle school and high school grades.

The workbook is so easy to bring on the go. A playground water break in the shade is the perfect time to do some activities, then back to playing! It’s great that the workbook incorporates fitness as well. My boys love to move, so that’s perfect for us.

The 8-week curriculum is designed by state-certified teachers and educators and includes a summer reading list to encourage students to continue reading during summer break. Each week focuses on different English and math concepts, along with a science experiment, fitness activities, and a fun puzzle to keep students engaged and motivated.

🚨His siren sound effect is unmatched😂 These mini vehicle sets are a must in our house. So fun to set up different roads and scenes at home and small enough to take on the go. A restaurant favorite for our boys!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! For me, it was a lot of fun, but still busy running around. Plus, preparing ahead of time getting gifts for other moms in our life and coordinating plans…on top of the usual things I have to do. I’m taking it easy today and I hope you do too😊💜

At some point, I would love a whole house water filter or under sink water filters, but they really aren’t in the cards for us right now. I was so happy to find a budget-friendly, no install option that filters out SO many contaminants. We use the water for drinking, cooking, cleaning produce, etc.

Mom break activated😉💜 My kids have been loving this magnetic toy since they got sets for Christmas. So many cool things can be built with them and you can add on sets. There are even compatible specialized sets too.

So happy to have some nice warm weather☀️Unfortunately, with that comes the start of herbicide and pesticide season👎 It feels like these signs are EVERYWHERE. Even if you don’t use them in your own yard, it’s so easy to come in contact with these chemicals. There’s overspray/runoff on sidewalks, in the street, etc. Plus, going to other homes, kid sport fields and public spaces that use them.

We do our best to avoid those areas, but it’s still frustrating. Usually, we play in parks and ride bikes in our nearby preserve.

Obviously kids will be kids. My boys sure are lol🤪 I try to get *some* of the germs…a losing battle? Maybe 😂

@Honest hand sanitizing wipes are a must for us on the go…shopping carts, hands, etc. We even use them on our phones.

Here goes Part 2💜🌱 I started my journey to reduce toxins as a new mom. Over several years, I slowly made changes to lower our toxic load.

✨SINGLE USE COFFEE PODS✨
Plastic and even aluminum pods can leach microplastics into coffee. For hot coffee, we now use a fully stainless steel electric kettle and a stainless steel strainer. For cold coffee, we make cold brew concentrate in a very large mason jar with stainless steel mesh strainer.

✨CHEMICALLY TREATED SWIMWEAR✨
Swimwear can be chemically treated for UV protection. We now use swimwear that instead achieves UV protection through the tight weave of the fabric.

✨ALUMINUM FOIL✨
Aluminum can leach into foods and is even worse when using the foil on top of a metal pan. We use unbleached parchment paper sometimes, but mostly use our stainless steel sheet pans with nothing.

✨TOMATO PRODUCTS IN CANS✨
Acidic foods can especially leach toxins from the can into the food. We get tomato products that are sold in glass jars instead.

✨A MICROWAVE✨
Our microwave broke years ago and we already felt weary about using it. We then got used to using our toaster oven and stovetop for those things and love it. Never bought a replacement.

✨AIR FRESHENERS✨
Synthetic fragrances can contain hundreds of harmful ingredients that don’t need to be disclosed. We don’t use any replacement, but you could use essential oils or a simmer pot.

✨PLASTIC FOOD CONTAINERS✨
Acidic and fatty foods can leach plastic into the food. Also heat can do the same. We use glass and some stainless steel containers.

✨SYNTHETIC CLEANERS✨
There are many harmful ingredients in synthetic cleaners that can be inhaled and/or absorbed through the skin. We make some of our cleaners and buy some natural cleaners.

✨PERFUMES / BODY SPRAYS✨
Same issue with air fresheners plus these are also absorbed through the skin which is worse. We removed fragrance from all personal care products.

✨SYNTHETIC BED PILLOWS✨
Synthetic pillows can emit VOCs. We now use pillows made of certified organic latex and organic cotton. There are various types of natural pillows to choose from.
