Although I’ve had the privilege of playing professionally for a few years now, this year is different. It’s more than just another season - it’s history in the making, and it’s an honour to be a part of it.

Today is a full-circle moment for the younger me who dreamed of this. Who always knew she wanted to play professionally, but didn’t know she could do it in her own country one day.

I am so overwhelmed with gratitude - for those before me that helped lay the foundation and for all those working now to help strengthen it.

We’re building something bigger than ourselves and it’s only just the beginning 🇨🇦 by @hellopickett

Investing in myself off the pitch allows me to bring my A-game on the pitch. That’s why I’m so excited to partner with Canada Med Laser, because they believe that feeling confident in your own skin brings out your best self!

I will never forget the feeling I had when I woke up in the middle of the night with my heart aching and tears already in my eyes - so hurt and confused as to why this sudden shift in the universe woke me up.

As today marks three years, I know it was because of how connected my four siblings and I were to one another. Just as the four chambers make up the heart, my brothers and sister make mine whole - and I had felt it shattered. The invisible strings that had bound us all together, and what made us whole, were severed.

I miss him terribly and I think about him every single day, and even though we’re not on the same physical plane, I still feel his connection and existence. His humour, kindness, desire for adventure, and zest for life, is in those that I surround myself with today. I’m so thankful to see that his soul comes through and that there are bits and pieces of him in others - for that’s what makes the world good and fun.

I hope everyone hugs those closest to them extra tight today. Laugh heartedly, make memories, dare yourself to experience new things, and be unapologetically yourself - just as Dylan had always done. by @hellopickett

Some journeys are tested before they are celebrated…

From starring at Wisconsin to representing Canada on the international stage… Victoria Pickett built her path through resilience, sacrifice and belief…

Her journey hasn’t been perfect or linear like many athletes, she’s faced pressure, setbacks, transitions and moments that could’ve broken her confidence… But she kept moving forward…

After competing professionally in the NWSL with Kansas City, NC Courage and Gotham FC… She now continues her story with AFC Toronto in Canada’s Northern Super League… Helping push the women’s game into a new era…

Not every athlete needs to scream for attention… some simply let their journey speak for itself…

The game keeps evolving because women like her continue to carry it forward with intensity, elegance and purpose…
