Huge thanks to @ieee_ras_official for the opportunity to go to #IROS2026!

Hello SciCom creative, Hebba, got to spend a few days amidst the robots and robot enthusiasts, ogling dextrous hands, talking to roboticists, and learning how to spell "roboticists."

The only downside? She is now terrifyingly equipped to make robot puns.

She’s already brainstorming snacks for next year’s goodie bags: HapTic-Tacs.

I tried to biohack childbirth & pregnancy. I learned: Reproduction is the ultimate biohack.

The full talk: pregnancy, biohacking, and several smart devices that.. tried their best.

Featuring: my last six pack day, how long it took to regain the first pack, wearing a smart ring during childbirth, glucose testing frat pranks, the history of the lack of RCT science on pregnancy, and all the gadgets along the way.

Despite the funny foibles, I really loved my tools and they’re doing some of the most accessible largescale science we have and it made me feel empowered: @ouraring ring @renpho and @PlaudAI also shoutouts to @SNOO @huckleberrycare and thx to @profemilyoster . And the HBCD study.

Scientists, researchers, and STEM professionals: applications are open for Comedy Camp, a paid 8-week virtual training program on using humor to communicate science.

Participants will work with science comedy writers and communication coaches to turn a core idea from their work into a clear, engaging, 3-minute TED-style talk about why it matters to the public.

No comedy experience required. The program is collaborative, supportive, and designed to help scientists communicate with more warmth, trust, clarity, and impact. Your anonymized participation will inform a study on comedy + public valuation of science.

Selected participants receive a $500 stipend upon completion.

Support for this program is provided by @rwjfoundation. The views expressed here do not necessarily reflect the views of the Foundation.

Apply by June 30, 2026.
