I urge everyone to watch a playthrough or emulate Poinie's Poin if you haven't already! Have felt uninspired for much of this year (hence the lack of posting) but this funny gem of a game gives me hope 🤓🍌💜🍒💚💞🍩💛

"Jiko-mushi, fuetemasu!" (Self-Centered Bugs Are Increasing!) 1999–2000 PSA ad campaign by AC (Japan Ad Council) depicting people who are "selfish bugs" or "Jiko-mushi". The girl bug's name is Shirokuji-mushi. Art and design by Kazuyuki Kurashima.

Screenshots from various Love-de-lic, Skip Ltd, Kenichi Nishi and Kazuyuki Kurashima credited game promotion commercials compiled by user a_hoomin on Youtube.

Games Featured:
◇ Endonesia
◇ Inaka Kurashi: Nan no Shima no Monogatari
◇ Chu♡lip
◇ Chibi-Robo!: Park Patrol
◇ Captain Rainbow
◇ Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love
◇ Giftpia
◇ Incredible Crisis
◇ UFO: A Day in the Life

Bonus PSA commercial from Japan Ad Council about rising incidents of self-centered people in public; art by Kazuyuki Kurashima.

Would like to make individual posts centered on visuals from Endonesia, UFO: A Day in the Life, Giftpia and Captain Rainbow. The Tingle games deserve their own homage post as well. There is something to be said about how profound and influential Kurashima's art style is on modern indie game design!

Side note if you've been following me since I abandoned this account thank you so much for still being around as it's literally been years since I last posted 😂 I think by abandoning this account and leaving social media for as long as I did it I lost a pretty valuable albeit peripheral space for me to engage in my interests with others in the world. I'm sure instagram is now littered with "archival" accounts like mine however I love this style of posting still, it feels very genuine and Tumblr-esque to me. Thank you 💌🫂🏩

Various Amecharhythm and Hory's designs. Artist Masaru Houri first designed these characters with the intent of creating what he calls "Americanism Cute" by tracing Disney characters at his old manufacturing job, fascinated by the "cute nature and sharp touch". I'll be making another post regarding the rare Amecharhythm merchandise ~
Inspired by @visitnymph, so definitely go check out their post about it! 🤓💜💞🩵💛
