Lanatan, or Raimunya, isn’t just a pretty garden flower... it could be changing how India’s tigers hunt! 🐅🌸

According to the latest State of India’s Environment Report, the legendary Bengal tiger is undergoing a dramatic behavioral shift. They are moving away from traditional open grasslands and into dense, thick thickets of Lantana camara.
With near-perfect cover and low visibility, tigers are using these dense patches to ambush cattle...which increases chances of human-tiger conflict in villages close to reserves and forests.

Experts say the only way forward is clear: we must stop treating this as just a tiger problem and start focusing on habitat restoration. By empowering local community-based conservation strategies to manage these landscapes, we can keep human intervention out and let the wild stay wild.

The Vernal Hanging Parrot is an absolute marvel of adaptation. Thanks to uniquely strong feet that lock onto twigs, they spend their lives hanging inverted to feed on nectar and fruits. By doing so, they act as crucial pollinators and seed dispersers across the Western Ghats, Northeast India, and the Andaman Islands.

Because they feed so quietly in small groups, spotting one requires a lot of patience...but it’s entirely worth it.

That is the latest 2026 estimate for India’s leopard population, a testament to resilience and conservation success. But as their numbers grow, so does the challenge of finding water in a warming climate.

When natural springs dry up, wildlife is forced to venture toward human settlements. To bridge this gap, Project Aquarius has officially hit a milestone of 237 solar pump installations across India. ☀️💧

These pumps work silently deep within the forest, replenishing water bodies and ensuring that leopards (and all other wildlife) have a safe place to drink without leaving their territories.

Conservation isn’t just about protection; it’s about providing the essentials these animals need to live and thrive in their habitats.
