a love letter to @vermontrowing part 3 of 3 except i got sick and couldn’t complete my final year 🫠
for those who weren't sure why i was absent from rowing this past year, it is because i have been facing a diagnosis of autonomic nervous system disorder, or dysautonomia. it causes me to faint, endure heart palpitations and chronic fatigue. myself, my parents, and my doctors agreed that i could not participate in rowing any longer at risk of having an episode on the water. that said, i was determined to stay connected to VTR through helping at fall regattas and novice practices (and learning to drive a coach's launch!). thank you to VTR for allowing me to participate the way my body allowed, even if my condition prevented me from racing.
shoutout to coach Vicki, coach Kyle, coach Claire, and especially my senior teammates for being patient with me and creating an adaptive environment in the sport of rowing.
i may not have finished my final season the way i wanted to, but i’ll always be proud to have been a part of this team 💚💛 taken in University of Vermont by @hen1ey1ynch
