Baseball season is here⚾️🧢Rally caps are a way of conjuring hope. All it takes is a hat that you turn inside out and backwards or pile on top of a teameates head and boom, you’ve created a sort of totum or antenna that captures luck. It’s kind of more about the act of deciding to do it. You only really do this when your team is losing yet simultaneously gaining momentum, or if you have a strange feeling victory could be in reach. But it’s also kind of a last ditch effort. One employs this action when you have nothing left to give, it’s the final thing you can do. One has to be an agent of hope to do this, or desperate, or delusional. I’ve been slowly carving this lino block in between projects for the past month or so. It’s been such a joy! (I used to try to finish a block as fast as possible) I’ve always preferred proofing my blocks by making rubbings rather than inking them. Lately, I’ve been thinking of them as finished works. The way the composition shifts from its original orientation has kept the images full of possibilities. At some point I’ll print the actual block and post it. 📰🗞️#printmaking #lino #reliefprinting by @hen_pen_
