My Baharroth and the Swooping Hawks. Silver at Golden Demon 2025. Finally. I've been trying to win in the squad category 5 times with different results. Commended, Commended, Finalist (less than Commended then), Finalist. And now Silver. Being a winner along with @drinkthepaint and @erik_swinson is just madness. I'm super happy. Those were a piece of love. I enjoyed every single of all 648 feathers. It was pain as well, but they were still fun. The alternating patterns made me paint every one on their own instead of treating them as a single large surface. I ended up at about 300 hours of time, not counting the sculpting of the base. Also not counting the time I spent to carve in gaps between the shin-armour-plates on each hawk's lifted leg as they aren't in the sculpt. They also aren't visible at that angle, but for a GD-piece and for my own mental health, it had to be done.
Most of the basing bits I already had, but all were customised to show an identical type of realistic breakage. Some were sculpted just for that base and Baharroth specifically. Thanks to @a_c_miniatures and @n0tchris for giving me feedback and forcing me to go forward with the base which was too plain at first. I never intended any plants at all, but just a dead planet for maximum readability of the hawks. The plants now distract a little, but also make the base so much more interesting. Thanks also goes to @stahly_taleofpainters.
Detail shots are probably going to follow.

PS: It's plain brush work.

The Eldar Wraithbaron. A project I've been working on for many months since Golden Demon 2023. Based on the Epic 40k Knight variants which had multiple sizes and the old lore about Knight houses, of which only one turned into the Wraithknight. The baron is a slightly smaller one, it stands between Lord and Knight.

300 hours were invested of sculpting and all the work required to get it into physical form. 250 hours of painting. Handed in to #GoldenDemon2024 in the Large/Vehicle category.

I tried to keep it as close to GW designs as I could by still making it a little different and not just a scaled up Lord. I gave it a shield and prism spear. I also designed a rune to represent it properly which can be found on the plinth and on the base itself.

The paint job is kind of well known, but I wanted to keep the vines more subtle and yet more impressive. So they are all painted in the embossed style.

This is a unique model solely for my collection and for Golden Demon. No STL for sale.

My Hornet is complete. No stencils, no decals, just freehands.

The model clocks in at about 50 hours.

Trigger warning to miniature painters: Scary.

*Halloween - yea, I will not learn this anymore in my life.

The most important thing I have to say about Golden Demon 2026: It was a blast. Everything. The models. The GD/GW-crew (🫶). The participants. The entries. The stage show.

For me, GD is a lot about socialising. So thanks to everyone I already knew. And who considered taking me to all the afternoon-activities. 🫶 Also to @n0tchris for just being the greatest buddy bearing me for whole 5 days. Thanks also to everyone approaching me on the show. 🫶 Sometimes, I might have felt a little "short" due to how draining all that is. So many people, so much noise, so much standing and walking, so much talking and socialising. I love it, but it's draining.

One of my entries faced an accident after picking it up from the crew when showing it to an absolute legend and now I will have to repair one of the models. But I can do it. Both new entries I painted achieved finalist. So basically 4th/5th place. Insane. I'd lie when saying I'm not a bit sad to not having achieved a trophy, but I'm also very proud for both having reached finalist and hopefully getting featured on WarCom in a bit. The competitors winning well deserved it and were very very strong. I also got 3 commended on models I just took to give people another look upon - even on one of my models I painted as a pure gaming piece.
I'll try to get a detailed post for the models I entered, I knew I was rather secretive.

Thanks to everyone. So much.

My Heavy Support Weapon Platform, the last model I entered to Golden Demon 2022.
No decals, no stencils, just freehands. The base and all elements on it were self-sculpted.

My custom Eldar model created in 2024 has the same name. Coincident?
Edit: The actual spelling seems to be "Idranith". 🫠 Legally totally distinct from "Idranyth". 😅

Reposting my Eldar Nightwings that won Silver at #GoldenDemon2025 in the small scale category. I didn't expect them to get anything except some kind of pin and I only brought them, because there was still space left in my carry case. Still, this was a very nice surprise!

The plinth and exhaust-trails were sculpted digitally and printed in clear resin, then varnished and painted to give the semi-transparent and cloudy appearance.

The colours might a liiiiittle bit stronger than the model was, but I am pretty happy about the angle they took it at. My tiny broken and repaired little custom Cheetah. 😌 I was super stoked it got finalist this GD. Unexpected. Madness.

My Imperial Fists Librarian. An older model I took again to GD2025, because I'm a loot-goblin and didn't have a single-category model done. Still got a neat little Commended pin for it and some awwws from random visitors. It was never meant to be a winner, but I think every nice model at a show is always a good addition.
