In May, Henry Langmack connected with Stanley Virgint on LinkedIn. He asked about Virgint’s AI travel startup, Soar.

Days later, Langmack launched his own startup — also called Soar. It started a monthslong feud, one that I chronicled for Business Insider. Read it at the link in my bio. by @henry.chandonnet

What is grindslop?

The insult describes social media posts about hardcore work schedules. It’s especially popular in tech.

Did you see the HallPass candy launch? Its president says all those AI typos — like "suger" and "pacaage" — were intentional. Full story at the link in my bio. (And zoom in to spot the flubs!) by @henry.chandonnet

The AI bros are lonely. They told me that their friends, family, and parters don’t understand them. “You feel like you’re on an island,” one said. (Link in bio.)

Last June, the retailer Rainbow warned its fashion models that it was ramping up its AI use. "Fewer people will be needed in the long term," its studio manager wrote.

Thus began what several models described as a year of anxiety and, later, anger. They could see the company using AI to create synthetic models within view of where they worked, the models told Business Insider. At the same time, the models' days in the New York office began to dwindle, they said. Nearly a year after that June email, Rainbow has begun rehiring some models — though many remain out of work.

In March of this year, the models began noticing Rainbow marketing images that looked like them, but posed in positions or locations that differed from the photo shoots they had participated in. Many suspected the doppelgängers were the result of AI. A flurry of emails to Rainbow followed, along with a lawsuit by one model.

I spoke to multiple Rainbow employees and contractors, and also reviewed dozens of email exchanges and images, as well as modeling contracts. Read the full saga in @businessinsider (link in bio). by @henry.chandonnet

Geoff Chan sees the parents staring. He uses Claude Code and Codex while his daughters ice skate. Then, when the practice is over, he keeps his laptop ajar while helping them out of their skates.

Some parents dodge the half-open laptop. Others try to peak under the screen. "I have to put it up on a shelf," Chan told me. "I'm untying my girls' skates while looking back like: Is it done?"

As agent-mania takes over, techies like Chan aim for longer AI coding sessions. Many of these tools run locally or depend on WiFi, so shutting down their laptops would mean losing progress.

That's why your AI-pilled friend is walking around with an open laptop: their agent is still running.

Scott Galloway never claimed to be an activist.

"I'm too lazy, selfish, socially minded," he told me back in February. At one point, he calls activists "more noble" than himself. Seconds later, he describes not wanting to "get on a call with a bunch of people in Birkenstocks."

Still, Galloway finds himself leading two movements, both with Big Tech in the crosshairs. There's Resist and Unsubscribe, which urges Americans to unsubscribe from Big Tech to protest the Trump Administration's immigration crackdown. Then there's his call to empower young men, a demographic he says is socially and economically disadvantaged.

It's a surprising turn for the serial entrepreneur and business school professor. He's a provocateur, a testosterone-injecting multimillionaire who students call a "dick." Is this the man who can move the masses to quit Amazon Prime cold turkey?

Read my profile of Galloway at the link in my bio. It's got a Kara Swisher cameo, "Heated Rivalry," and a $34,000 Uber bill. by @henry.chandonnet

At 1:13 p.m. PT on Thursday, a member of "Square Mafia" sent a news article to the Slack group's #general channel along with a single word: "Whoa!"

The article detailed sprawling cuts at Jack Dorsey's payment processing company, Block, which had previously rebranded from Square Inc. five years ago. At least 4,000 Block employees were laid off last week, nearly half of the company.

The message received seven middle-finger emoji reactions. The channel flooded with messages: sending "big hugs," jokes about similarities to DOGE cuts, and rage over the rising stock price.

The "Square Mafia" has been around since 2016, serving as a watering hole for former Block employees. After Thursday's layoffs, the Slack channel saw a surge in activity. It now has 3,807 members.

How do founders date while 996-ing? They don’t, it turns out.

Silicon Valley has long mixed work with play. While Google and Facebook were being built, their staff were also tripping on ayahuasca and canoodling in “cuddle puddles.” Now, amid the cutthroat AI wars, tech has gone hardcore.

That means no time for hookups or Tinder swipes. I asked over two dozen young tech professionals about their romantic lives. Most told me they weren’t dating at all.

The founders blamed different sources: unending work schedules, a commodification of romance, or San Francisco’s gender ratio. They also set different markers for when they would get on the love market, like after a Series B.

For Silicon Valley’s hustle class, “it’s time to build” means there’s no time to bone. Read my latest at the link in bio. by @henry.chandonnet
