🚨Vulnerability

Overview from 2021 to 2025

Who I was to who I am now. Honestly reflecting alot lately. Especially in the season I am in. Life has been tough. Been through a lot and done a lot and wrestled with alot. Worked on my self a lot too. Figuring out who I have been and who I am. Finding my confidence in my self. Finding that relationship with God that I use to have.

Loosing things and letting others consume who you are and paying your own energy and time into someone or something is taxing. And honestly I felt that and I seen it. It’s not fun. A lot of things I have done I know I could and will do better. All with Gods grace.

I can tell you this much. I finally have found more of who I am in my new friend groups that I have. My community that I actually feel like I am part of.

Learning to not care about pleasing all 2,000 of my friends that come and go in my life. But to please my self is enough and to love my self. God is going to show me more in my friends and my self. Then putting all my energy into making sure I please everyone.

I hated my self that I realize now what I been through and now just learning how to be my self and enjoy my self. Learning to stand up for my boundaries. Not let anyone push those borders down on my boundaries. Managing my times, my energy, my purpose. Doing things that bring me joy and fulfill who I am.

Though this is only 4 year re cap. I know I could go all the way back to starting elementary school back in 2000 I could see my self as a kid wanting to have all the friends.

To tell my younger self: Your going to be ok as an adult. You are loved and cared. People will come and go in your life. Just focus on you and God. Let God be the bouncer in sense to show you who will stay and go in your life.

To tell my older self: Proud of you. You have gone so far. You are definitely going places. You’re leading your own trail and setting your own steps for your purpose. Keep on perusing that career goal of yours in Hollywood.

Growing daily. Putting in the work. Let’s get after it. Learning to love the growth I am putting in my self this year. #faith #BJJ #selfcare #christiansofinstagram by @henry.p.maynard

Starting to learn to grow in many ways. One which is health and body. Trying to gain muscle and build bigger. #fitnesslife #faithoverfear🙏 #strengthtraining #bjj #christian by @henry.p.maynard

I know this was a few months back. But I was recently talking to a friend of mine and had me thinking too of BJJ and my faith. I show up to class. I put in my all and yes I get submitted and pinned and chocked a lot. But I don’t give up. I don’t die. I suffer. But it builds character in me. It has helped me to see that I can handle pressure. I can be confident in my self.

You ask how does this kinda tie to my faith. Similar, I suffer and have problems. But I am working through them. I show up to God daily as I try and pray and seek that closeness. Doing BJJ has helped me see that I can make healthy habits and prove to my inner child self that I am confident.

God is working in and through me every time I get a small injury or take a little time off the mat. It has helped me gain a new perspective on my faith and how sometimes when I am feeling stuck. Just breath and know I am going to get out of this pressure that I feel like I am in. I am enjoying the growth and persistent and tenacity I have for this self growth of my self through all this. #faith #christian #faithoverfear🙏 #youcantteachheart #growth by @henry.p.maynard

My strength that I have comes from God. Yes I workout and trying to eat more too. But my true inner self strength is all for God. Learning to be strong and fit physically also motivates me to train my spiritual muscle too. Challenges me to make sure that muscle is worked out as well. To GO to the word. Read scripture and be showered in praises. Trusting in God in all that I do will bring glory in His name. #faith #christian #growth #christiansofinstagram #losangeles by @henry.p.maynard

Always nice to be setting sail and going on in bay excursions. Always peaceful and fun. 🤩

Getting into the season of remembering the true meaning of Christmas besides the magic of Christmas. The real magic is through prayer and through Christ. #faith by @henry.p.maynard

Christmas Vacation 2025 is going to be great 👍🏼 Nice little reset. Enjoy family. Enjoy every moment and everyday. It’s going to be a good day. #faith #christian #christiansofinstagram by @henry.p.maynard

Washing my car reminded me about my faith. It’s been messy and dirty for a bit for a while. Just as I wash my car. I know Jesus washed my sins away. And I do believe that. And I want to walk with that on my mind daily. #faith #car #christian #LA #losangelescalifornia🇺🇸 #hondacivic2018 #hondacivicex by @henry.p.maynard

Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃 I am thankful for everyone and all my family and friends. Thankful for being able to enjoy a good meal with good friends. Though my family being 3,000 miles away. Psalm 100 always brings peace to me.

“For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever; his faithfulness, through all generations.”
