Time to finally announce the this! šŸ”„

The IG Reels Overlay is something I’ve developed over the past few months as something to fill a gap within my workflow.

It’s pretty much a perfect replica of the Instagram UI.

If you’re keen to get your hands on it:

Nothing happens overnight.

Developing my skill to talk to camera has been something I’ve done for the last 6+ years.

Yet so many people think it happens overnight.

When you first start, you’ll:

šŸ‘‰Ā Cringe at yourself

šŸ‘‰Ā Stutter your words

šŸ‘‰Ā Mess up your sentences

šŸ‘‰Ā Ramble on for ages

šŸ‘‰Ā Feel like you’re an imposter.

But over time this goes away.

I’ve been on both sides of the camera for years, and seen a lot of people perform and (not) perform very well.

It’s a skill that you can develop, and it’s something many many people find really difficult - and for a good reason!

But it all comes down to practice, and reflection on what you’d like to improve on the next time you do it.

If I were to offer specific advice for a friend or family member, here’s what I’d say:

1. Practice often, intentionally.

Record videos as much as you can - even if you don’t post them. But each time be intentional and thoughtful to what you’re trying to improve - this’ll help your improvement speed up.

2. When talking to camera, talk like you’re in conversation with a friend.

Talking to a camera can be really tricky since it’s not human. So instead imagine you were talking to a friend - and let yourself speak like you would with them.

^ this will help your tone become more like you overtime.

3. Be kind and patient with yourself.

I still don’t LOVE how I sound on camera, but I know that I’m my biggest critique and no one else will care as much as me.

So let yourself get out of the way and start sharing your incredible value with the world.

If you’re still struggling to talk to camera āž”Ā DM me.

And if you know someone else who struggles with this - share this post with them to let them know they’re not alone 🫶

July 2026. Slower month.

Overall no huge updates from June šŸ˜‚ Just the same old weekly life.
- ended up having incredibly balanced weeks of work which is super rare in the freelance world.
- got sick for a week, which was a bummer
- continued working and developing on the next stage of business
- started making time to adventure out to Melbourne places more… gotta pick it back up in Aug now though!
- travelled to Lakes Entrance & Warrnambool for the first time! Both incredibly nice places.

Nothing crazy. Bit of a lull month honestly!

Hope ya’ll are well 🫶 by @henry.sheahan

June 2026 Recap.

What an awesome month.
- lots of reflecting and focus on the next 5 years of my life.
- caught up with a bunch of friends and family
- ate wicked awesome food
- explored a coastal regional town for a few days
- celebrated 25 years of life
- continued developing the next phase of my business
- watched plenty of incredible TV Show episodes
- smashed a bunch of PRs in gym
- built an excitement for the future

Overall there’s no one part of the month that made this month so enjoyable - it’s all the little things coming together.

I’ve got dreams for the next 5 years of my life. Now it’s about making all of it happen 🄳🄳🄳🄳 by @henry.sheahan

May 2026 Recap.

This month was a bit of a quieter month, a bit more relaxed with a lot of regional travel for work and shoots.

- Started working on one of my favourite video project series of the year.
- Got to test a lot of new workflows and processes for the business. Essentially learning new tools trying to build things trying to make the client experience better.
- Got to be outside and continue to focus on my health.
- Finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (after abandoning it for over a year)

Overall a mixed bag month.

I think I’ve realised I am getting older while still incredibly young. I feel there’s pressure to figure out what I need to do, I feel like I have hit a point where I need to figure out what the next five years of my life looks like and what I would like to achieve and do and sometimes there’s a lot of pressure with those things to get it right to take the time to have it sorted.

So a lot of thinking a lot of chatting with friends and family and a lot of time trying to figure it out, but overall a pretty fun and enjoyable month. by @henry.sheahan

March 2026 Recap. Better late than never šŸ˜‚

It’s been a really solid month! Life balance definitely shifted back towards more life and less work (even sometimes a bit too much!) but overall I’ve landed in a really good place leading into April.

Plenty of business happening, plenty of enjoyment outside of work, close to hitting some big health fitness milestones for myself - feels like a lot is clicking.

It’s just good vibes all round. I hope you’ve also had a great month šŸ˜„ by @henry.sheahan

Feb 2026. Too much work, not enough life.

I think the hardest part of working for yourself is maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Often a few times a year I’ll find myself tipped too hard on either side of the scale - too much life, or too much work.

This month it was definitely too much work.

Between taking on too many projects, massive scope creep taking place (that I didn’t realise due to being so busy with other projects) and production schedules shifting without the deadlines shifting alongside them.

It was simply too much.

Towards the end of Feb I’ve definitely pulled back and taken time to reset, and find ways to prevent it from happening again so I can put my full energy towards both life & work 😊

That said, concert season is back and I’m loving life! I have a feeling March’ll be a good month. 🄳

P.S I think this is a full year of monthly recaps! by @henry.sheahan

Jan. The calm before the storm.

Was honestly so nice being able to take a break from everything after a full-on end to 2026. That said I definitely struggle in the quiet times as I have no clue what to do.

That said, had a bunch of fun taking time off, focusing on fitness, spending time with family & friends, levelling up a few hobbies and just enjoying life.

Feb has already ramped up 330% with work, looking like the craziest Q1 I’ve ever had - maybe when I look back in March I’ll feel like I should’ve taken advantage more of the time off in Jan.

It’s been good, confusing - but good. 🫶😊

Final Recap of 2025 🤯

Woah, what a year. Honestly I have no idea where all the time has flown, I’ve also got little memory of what happened each and every month šŸ˜…

Just feels like everything happened so fast..

As always, feeling grateful for the life I have.
For Courtney, my amazing partner in life. Honestly don’t know what I’d be doing or how life would ever look without you. Thankyou for your forever support - you make every day of my life so fun ā¤ļø

For my whole family - especially Mum, Dad, Em & Willow - you’re a bunch of absolute legends and I always love spending time with you all.

For all my friends, whether you’ve been here since high school, or we’ve become friends over the past year - I’m always keen to catch up and talk shop, ya’ll are a bunch of awesome humans I enjoy spending time with and I appreciate you all being in my life.

Feels weird thinking that 2025 is over, so much and so little happened all at once. Really feels like a year spent working, learning and growing. Keen to make 2026 a year of learning, but also building on the foundations that wer created from 2025.

Very keen to see what happens in the next 365 days 🄳 by @henry.sheahan

November 2025 Recap.

Lot of mixed feelings. Excitement, confusion, feeling lost, unsure and yet motivated all at once.

I think it’s the time of year, and reaching goals I never thought possible only to realise I have no idea what to do once reaching them.

Grateful nonetheless, will always be thankful to those around me 🫶😊 by @henry.sheahan
