We're thrilled to announce the dates for the 10th Hastings Book Festival! Next year's event will run from Friday 17 to Sunday 26 September 2027.

We're also delighted to welcome two new directors to the team leading the 10-day extravaganza of all things literary.

@samdaveyauthor, one of the festival’s original founders, and @henrynormalpoet, a former patron, join @timbarlowwrites, who will continue as director following a very successful first year in the role.

Together with a fantastic team of committee members and volunteers, the three directors aim to make HBF 2027 the best book festival yet. Details of headline events will be announced shortly.

If you are a local writer or book enthusiast and want to get involved in next year’s Hastings Book Festival, get in touch with the team at info@hastingsbookfest.org. by @henrynormalpoet

I’m really looking forward to performing poetry at Eastbourne LitFest this Sunday night with the wonderful Henry Normal.

It’s the festival’s final event,
so will have an emotional bent -
expect some tears and laughter.
Hopefully more of the latter. taken in Eastbourne, East Sussex by @henrynormalpoet

Found a pump that’s not going to cost me an arm and a leg to fill up. Off to Nottingham today to my book launch at Five Leaves bookshop for Collected Poems volume 4.

Just had a brilliant weekend at Morecambe Poetry Festival seeing lots of different poets from all over the country including many old friends and now some new ones. So many highlights Nick Helm, Jan Brierton, Brian Bilston, Jackie Kay, Pete Ramskill, Attila, Salena Godden, Luke Wright, Dave Viney, Tim Barlow, Demelza D’hotel, Robin Ince, Elvis MaGonagal and so many more. Great to hang out with many of these and the fantastic photographer Richard Davis. Matt Panesh and his team have created something really special. by @henrynormalpoet

This is my favourite photo of me at the Morecambe Poetry Festival. It was taken by the great Richard Davis. I’m off up to the festival this weekend. Before I get there I’ve a gig in Luton tonight at Utter Lutonia which is at the hat Factory starts 7.30pm so do pop along if you are in the area.

Tomorrow I’m at the Wirksworth festival (sold out) and Saturday I’ll be at the Wintergardens in Morecambe doing my hour set alongside many brilliant poets. I’m stopping over to watch the other poets Sunday then off to Nottingham for a book launch at Five Leaves (sold out). If you see me around do say hello. by @henrynormalpoet
