During Art Basel Paris, October 23–25, Henzel Studio will present Oxidation Painting (01) at Meyer Zafra in the Marais, part of our ongoing collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Based on Warhol’s Oxidation Paintings from 1978, the work translates one of the artist’s most radical and abstract bodies of work into a hand-knotted composition in wool and silk.

Warhol created the original paintings by coating canvases with copper paint and exposing the surface to oxidation, producing unpredictable shifts in color, texture and metallic depth. Following two years of development, Henzel Studio reinterpreted these effects through material, pile height and hand-knotting, creating a textile work that preserves the visual complexity of the original process.

On view at Meyer Zafra during Art Basel Paris, and continuing through January 2027.

Calle Henzel’s Topanga Nebbia forms part of the Diamond Dust collection, an ongoing exploration of light, reflection and the effects of environmental exposure on textile surfaces.

Developed through a decade of experimentation in Northern Sweden, the collection draws on studies of selected works and material samples subjected to snow, ice and seasonal transitions. Variations in pile height and material composition evoke the reflective qualities of ice crystals suspended in cold air, creating surfaces that shift with the viewer’s position and changing natural light.

Henzel Studio presents Calle Henzel’s Nagla (Dusty Oxblood Edit), a hand-knotted rug from the Frozen Cut collection. Its free-form silhouette is available in custom dimensions and in a choice of linen, lyocell, merino, silk or wool.

Frozen Cut grew from Henzel’s decade-long study of rugs exposed to the elements in northern Sweden. Erosion, thaw and seasonal change inform the collection’s sculptural forms.

Le Météore de la Nuit is a collection by Calle Henzel, drawing on meteorites, celestial phenomena and the night sky through sculptural hand-knotted compositions that move between painting, object and architecture.

Fractured forms, layered planes and organic geometries create a language of controlled asymmetry. Shifting pile heights and negative space evoke gravity, erosion and movement, while changes in relief, fibre direction and light allow the surface to transform as the viewer moves around it.

Hand-knotted in New Zealand wool, mohair and silk, each work combines sculptural carving with free-form production techniques, positioning the rug as both a conceptual and material medium.

We are proud to share that the Lençóis rug, designed by Fernanda Marques and @isabellacmmarques in collaboration with @atelierbowy and @henzelstudio, has received Silver at the @framemagazine FRAME Awards.

First presented during Milan Design Week, Lençóis transforms the landscape and natural formations of Brazil into a collectible design object. Its sculptural composition translates a profound sense of place, movement and material into a new international design context.
