are you sick of dirty diapers? well I actually have a solution…

like I said, this is my series talking about things I’m doing in motherhood that you wouldn’t want to do so no pressure. You don’t have to do this, but somebody might want to & that somebody might be you.

I first heard of this years before I was even considering having a child, but when I was pregnant, I started doing my research and when my daughter was four months old, we committed to elimination communication; it’s really not that complicated. You just offer the opportunity to go potty, after a nap when they wake up in the morning after lunch, and you start to learn their cues, the way they look the way they act…

What really helped me learn was a page @godiaperfree

& a quote I heard on a podcast that said friends don’t let friends poop themselves at dinner 😂😂😂

so is it unconventional to offer the potty to my four month old? Maybe, but when I’m telling you, I only change max to poopy diapers a month I might be winning with this unconventional motherhood

slimy, squishy learning — we gutted our pumpkin and turned it into a sensory play; seeds, squishing strings, the whole sensory experience.

This one is magic for:
fine motor + pincer grasp (picking out those seeds)
tolerating textures (wet, cold, slimy — big one for sensitive littles)
cause + effect + language — scooping, pouring, “cold!” “squishy!”

Low prep, zero waste, and you already have it from carving anyway.

early education starts with inclusion — how can you integrate the little one into the experience bringing the pumpkin on the floor, offering bowls to sort, allowing time to climb around the pumpkins; nothing is rushed allow them to explore the new environment, this is how they learn through play and exploration!

it takes longer, but the journey is more fun together 🎃✨
