To all the ladies out there: You take the photos, we give the feature.

And it‘s way more than just a feature page!

Her Streets is a place to connect, support, and celebrate women in street photography.

We hope you’ll discover inspiring photographers, build genuine connections, and encourage one another instead of competing.

If you’re in the same city—or just passing through—why not meet up for a photowalk?

Let’s grow together, share our perspectives, and make this community stronger, one photograph at a time.

And of course, men are welcome to follow us, too!

Congratulations, @miss.goody2shoes !

Here is what @miss.goody2shoes from Denmark shared with us. I can really relate to what she is saying. Someone once told me that photography is probably my way of meditating and I think they were right.
Take a moment to explore her profile, get inspired, and support her work. 🙌

Photography is my hobby. I find peace in making pictures. And find somehow that I notice details I would not have noticed when I try to make pictures … It gives my mind peace. by @her__streets

CONGRATULATIONS Kim @hidden_hoodoos ✨✨✨

Feature of today selected by @thelart__

For Kim, street photography is a form of freedom and self-expression. It gives her a chance to step away from the roles and responsibilities of work and home and simply be herself. What began as an alternative to landscape photography quickly became a passion, and since buying her first camera in September 2024, she hasn’t stopped.

Thank you so much for supporting @her__streets and keep up the good work🖤🤍✨ by @her__streets

✨SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨
Congratulations, @julie_streetphotography !

selected by @capturedbyulrike

Here is what Julie from Worms, Germany shared with us. I really love her story, her passion, persistence, and the way she keeps following her path. There are quite a few things that resonate with me and inspire me.
Take a moment to explore her profile, get inspired, and support her work. 🙌

I am French, but Germany, Worms, has been my home since 2003. I’ve always been fascinated by photography, but I started practicing daily when I became a mom. During the pandemic, I joined an online workshop with a street photographer and took my first steps on the streets with a camera. I caught the street photography virus 😆

In 2024, I became vice-president of a female street photographers’ collective, but recently resigned to focus on my new career as a family and wedding documentary photographer.

Street photography is my meditation, my way to reconnect with my environment and myself, and to really observe what’s happening around me. I’m inspired by architecture, symmetry, lines, reflections, structures, colors and strong contrasts. I love experimenting with settings and reimagining the scenes I see with a touch of poetry. As I get bored doing the same things, I leave the door open to possibilities and follow my inspiration of the moment — like the series I created with Martin Parr in mind.

More generally, photography has become essential to me because documenting my family life matters so much. I always have my camera with me: give me one hour on the playground with my kids, and I’ll come home with 300 pics 🤣 Sadly, I’m a ghost in my own family photos — and that’s what I want to avoid for my clients. I help mothers become more visible in their family albums!

Finally, joining street photography communities, especially women’s communities, has changed so much for me. I’ve strengthened my practice, gained the confidence to enter competitions and open calls, and taken part in exhibitions. The support of a community that shares the same passion is priceless. by @her__streets

✨FEATURE OF THE DAY ✨
Congratulations, @steffiboelmann !

selected by @capturedbyulrike

Here is what Steffi currently based in Nigeria shared with us. I think it’s wonderful how photography has become such a holistic and creative experience for her.
Take a moment to explore her profile, get inspired, and support her work. 🙌

Currently based in Nigeria, I have lived and worked in several countries, embracing a life shaped by travel, movement, and cultural discovery. Photography began as a personal diary—a way to preserve the places, people, and memories encountered along the way. Over time, it evolved into an enduring passion and a powerful form of creative expression.

With a big passion and love for art in all its forms, I am drawn to the ways creativity can communicate what words cannot. My photography extends beyond documenting memories; it explores mood, emotion, atmosphere, and the stories beneath the surface. My experiences, travels, and connection to art continually shape my perspective, fueling an inner drive to create meaningful work, transport emotion and connect with others. by @her__streets

✨SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨
Congratulations, @char_lottesch

selected by @capturedbyulrike

Here is what Charlotte from Munich, Germany shared with us. What I love about her story is that we are all never too old to discover something new. And I believe that’s what makes life truly worth living.
Take a moment to explore her profile, get inspired, and support her work. 🙌

Photography has always fascinated me, although I never really believed that I could take “good” pictures myself (whatever that actually means 😉).

I didn’t control the camera — the camera controlled me. And because I was often frustrated, I would eventually put it aside again.

It wasn’t until three years ago, when I was already over 50, that I finally dared to take a beginner’s photography course. And it changed everything.

Suddenly, a whole new world opened up to me, and ever since, I haven’t been able to stop taking photographs.

Most of the time, you’ll find me out and about with my camera in Munich, the city I’ve chosen as my home. by @her__streets

Friday‘s feature✨✨✨✨

CONGRATULATIONS @babette_streetphotograpy 🥳

Thanks so much for sharing your work with us !
Check our her profile and support Babette 🫶🏼

Bio:
Babette is a Dutch photographer based between Volendam in the Netherlands and Valencia, Spain. After years of creating minimal, colorful photography, she recently stepped into the world of mostly black-and-white street photography — and discovered an entirely new way of seeing.

She has always loved wandering the streets and observing people, but photographing strangers still takes her outside her comfort zone. Often, she first finds the frame and then waits for the right person to enter it — that fleeting moment when everything falls into place.

For Babette, black and white brings order to the chaos of everyday life, a visual approach rooted in her earlier minimalist work. Street photography has become a new territory she is still exploring, one photograph at a time.

✨ FEATURE OF THE DAY ✨
Congratulations, @larissa.ribeiro.photography !

Selected by @capturedbyulrike

Here is what Larissa, a Brazilian photographer, architect, researcher and curator based in Porto, Portugal, shared with us.

She has developed her own distinctive way of seeing the world, shaped by architecture, movement, curiosity, and the belief that our experiences as women also influence what we see, capture, and share with one another.

“I’m mainly interested in photographing architecture, streets, and travel. Architecture inevitably shapes the way I see: I observe relationships between bodies and spaces, changing light, shadows, silhouettes, reflections, geometries, and small events that can reorganize a scene for just a few seconds.

Walking is an important part of my process. When I explore a city, I like to leave the planned route behind, slow down, change direction, and simply follow whatever catches my curiosity. For me, photography often emerges from this encounter between intention and chance.

As a woman photographer, I’m also interested in being part of communities that create visibility and spaces for exchange among women. I don’t try to define what a ‘female gaze’ should be, but I believe our experiences, our journeys, and the ways we move through the world inevitably shape what we choose to observe and transform into photographs.”

Here is what Valeria from Zurich, Switzerland shared with us. I love the way she captures architecture, light and everyday city life with such a thoughtful eye.
Take a moment to explore her profile, get inspired, and support her work. 🙌

„As a young woman I took analog photos. After a long break from photography I rediscovered it for myself.
I live near Zurich so I spend a lot time in the city. My main interest is architectual photography. For some time now I‘ve been trying to combine architecture with its shapes and lines, as well as the play of shadows with street and urban photography.“ by @her__streets

Friday‘s feature 🔥

CONGRATULATIONS @jane___gismondi 🇨🇦🍁✨

Selected by @thelart__

Her work is unique ! Please check her gallery and be inspired !

Meet Jane — a self-taught photographer based in Vancouver, Canada.

Jane has been making photographs for eight years, and today, she rarely leaves the house without a camera. Her journey into photography began almost by chance in Stanley Park, where a conversation with a stranger carrying a camera encouraged her to pick up her own and truly learn how to use it. He eventually became something of a mentor — and she hasn’t stopped photographing since.

What keeps Jane coming back to the streets is the combination of creativity, challenge and unpredictability. She is particularly drawn to long exposures and the delicate balance between light, movement and time — a process she describes as feeling almost like painting.

But photography means much more to her than making images. It gets her outside every day, walking, observing and meeting strangers. Every day can hold a new surprise when she has her camera in hand.

For Jane, photography is simply a little bit of magic — her creative outlet, her physical health and her mental health. by @her__streets

Congratulations, @cristina.frames

selected by @capturedbyulrike

Here is what Cristina shared with us. Take a moment to explore her profile, get inspired, and support her work. 🙌

„I am fond of everything Japanese and I also love fog & clouds, even when artificially simulated. So, I had to visit this art installation by Fujiko Nakaya.

I really enjoyed it, especially because it encouraged people to be playful. People of different ages, with so many different backgrounds, personalities and behaviors, all enjoying with a minimal yet creative immersive setup.

Seeing the world with intention, emotion, and curiosity. In love with visual minimalism, drawn to details and moments. Abstract & atmospheric street photography.“ by @her__streets
