More than two months traveling across this enormous country and I am still trying to process it.
Saudi Arabia is huge.
Not just on the map. The scale of this place is honestly wild.
Endless desert landscapes.
Mountains that feel like another planet.
Ancient villages built into cliffs.
Modern cities rising out of the sand.
Then the Red Sea.
Some of the most beautiful coral reefs and underwater life I have ever seen. Sea turtles, crazy colors, dolphins, crystal water.
And the random moments you never plan.
But what stayed with me the most is the people.
In very few countries have I experienced this level of warmth and generosity.
Several times I finished dinner in a restaurant, asked for the bill and the waiter just smiled and said it was already paid.
Someone in the restaurant had paid for my meal.
A stranger. Someone I had never even seen before.
This happened several times.
That kind of hospitality honestly leaves you speechless.
Different regions. Different cultures. Different ethnicities.
But the same kindness everywhere.
This was my second time in Saudi Arabia.
And definitely not the last.
A big thank you to Abdul Malik, Zeid, Mana, Wesam, Mansour, Anjan and Turki for making this trip so special.
And to everyone who shared food, stories, directions or just a smile along the way.
Shukran.
If Saudi Arabia is not on your travel list yet, maybe it should be.

Saudi Arabia has completely exceeded all my expectations. From wandering through the ancient wonders of Hegra and AlUla to diving into the untouched underwater paradise of the Red Sea, this country offers contrasts and beauty that are nearly impossible to put into words. It feels almost lame to try to describe it—how do you capture the raw magic of ancient ruins or the vibrant coral reefs of the Red Sea without it sounding like an exaggeration? But it’s real. And it’s breathtaking.

Being here so soon after Saudi Arabia opened its doors to tourism feels like a rare privilege. The kindness, pride, and warmth of the people make this experience so much more than just sightseeing. It’s a place of ancient history and modern vision, desert landscapes and crystal-clear seas—all bound by a unique authenticity that I hope will always be preserved.

This is not just a destination; it’s an experience that stays with you.

Wow. Saudi Arabia is absolutely mind-blowing. The way light and shadow play across the dunes, that mystical vibe, and the endless stretches of sand leave you speechless. The warmth and kindness of the people? Unreal. Honestly, I could stay here forever.

Why Kombucha is My Go-To for Sugar Cravings and Beyond

I’ve been brewing kombucha at home for years, and my SCOBY, Bärli, is basically family at this point. My favorite is Jun Kombucha, brewed with green tea and honey, and I love adding ginger, turmeric, and blueberries during second fermentation—it’s the perfect blend of health and flavor.

Since coming to Six Senses, I’ve taken my kombucha game to the next level, learning all about second fermentation. This is where you can get creative by adding fruits, spices, or herbs to craft endless flavor combinations. It’s been so inspiring to explore how kombucha can be both a fun project and a health powerhouse.

Here’s why I drink kombucha when sugar cravings hit:

Natural sweetness: The light, natural sugars satisfy my cravings without spiking blood sugar.
low in calories: A perfect alternative to sugary snacks that feels indulgent but keeps me on track.
blood sugar balancer: The acetic acid helps stabilize blood sugar and curbs those sudden cravings.
gut health boost: Packed with probiotics, kombucha supports gut health, which directly impacts cravings and digestion.
rich in antioxidants: Polyphenols from the tea base fight oxidative stress, which is linked to unhealthy cravings.
hydration with flavor: Often, cravings stem from dehydration, and kombucha keeps me refreshed while tasting amazing.
At home, Bärli and I experiment with flavors like ginger-lime, turmeric-blueberry, and raspberry-mint. It’s a mix of creativity, self-care, and science, all bottled up in a glass.

If you’re looking for a natural way to handle sugar cravings or just want a healthy drink that supports your gut, kombucha might be the perfect addition to your day.
