Imagine if I had 12 stores that wanted to carry this. There would be none left to sell at my events. And we do have many stores wanting to purchase this, but this is the best way that we can get it directly to you and keep the cost down while holding the integrity of Connecticut grown organic ingredients. This was one of the last things to harvest! We still have some lemongrass and passionflower vine but this was our last big harvest of the year! Everything else we leave as food for the wild ones 💜 by @herbal_deva

Here’s a new product we have made in small batches for the seasonal changes. But an oxymel has so many uses so no matter how you use it, you are getting the benefits !
Oxymels are the new mocktail. But honestly most vinegar based mocktails are just too vinegary. We use local CT honey infused with goldenrod and organic apple cider vinegar infused with goldenrod for a sweet n tart even blend of a healthy elixir! by @herbal_deva

Welcome to Milford 🌿

Well… I guess it’s time to officially say it.

Herbal Deva has a new home in Milford!

After years of growing herbs, making medicine, hauling bottles, filling kitchens with elderberries, setting up farmers markets, and slowly growing this little business one batch and one person at a time… we have opened the doors to our very own boutique herbal manufacturing space.

And I still can’t quite believe I get to say that. This week I had a member of Weird Al Yankovic’s band come see the space and get some lemonades and elderberry syrup for the tour bus and he just couldn’t believe it. Honestly , I have been going and going and haven’t really taken it all in yet.

This space was created specifically for Herbal Deva — a place where we can make our elderberry syrup, herbal teas, tinctures, hydrosols, oxymels and all of the other things that come from the plants we grow and work with.

But I want it to become more than a production space.

There’s a big beautiful table gifted by @cleanslateffld waiting for people to gather around it. There are herbs waiting to be processed. There are formulas that haven’t been dreamed up yet. There are conversations, classes, collaborations and probably a whole lot of laughter still waiting to happen here.

And after all these years of Herbal Deva growing wherever I could make room for it…

And over the next few weeks, I’m going to show you around, tell you how we got here, share some of the behind-the-scenes craziness of building a commercial herbal kitchen, and introduce you to what I hope this little space will become because it’s still growing!

Have you ever had an Oxymel before ? It’s a great way to get your herbs in ! This one is our high mineral medicinal vinegar/honey/ and wild blueberry blend. This year I added ramps to the mix because it was calling out . This started being made early spring and was just finished . Look at this beautiful color! It’s made in super small batches .

Our Summer Harvest Oxymel begins with apple cider vinegar infused with hand-harvested nettles, cleavers, dandelion, chickweed, violet, mugwort, and ramps. We then blend it with raw local honey and wild blueberries to create a vibrant, sweet-tart tonic that celebrates the abundance of the season.
