I thought I had finished this one but I couldn’t sleep the other night and I just couldn’t stop looking at her looking at me. I just knew something was missing, I had known for days but I couldn’t figure out what it was. Then the wind from the balcony moved the lace curtains around my bed, and they kind of hit me in the face and it all made sense. Spent 3 hours in the middle of the night manically painting lace, not questioning my choices even once. So here she is, reborn;

It has been such an honor to be a part of the @bushypony self portrait show and to be exhibited alongside so many incredibly talented artists 🪞
My piece on show, “Eye of the storm”, is very dear to me and I am so touched to get to share it with you all.
For all my friends or foes that happen to be in Berlin or to be passing through in the next month and a half- it is definitely worth a visit 🗯️

And it will all have been worth it (2025)
This is the first piece I’ve painted in my new home in London 💗
Working with minimal supplies, no easel, no desk, missing most of my favorite brushes and mediums, but enjoying the wonders of a south-facing bay window 🌱

SIND Gallery is proud to announce its representation of Herdís Hlíf @herdill.art marked by the closing night of her exhibition.

Herdís (b. 1999) brings a distinct voice to the Icelandic art scene. A deeply personal visual language that bridges emotion and form. Her paintings open a intimate yet powerful world that feels extremely personal and universally familiar. We’re honored to continue this journey together.
