We are proud to have Ashok Meena on board as the Director of Photography of धूड़ (Sandstorm). 🎬✨

An FTII alumnus and a filmmaker with a distinctive visual language, Ashok’s work spans documentary, fiction and moving-image projects, with his cinematography travelling across some of the most renowned film festivals around the world.

From Against the Tide, which received the Special Jury Award for Vérité Filmmaking at the Sundance Film Festival 2023, to Meen Raag, recipient of the National Film Award (Silver Lotus) in 2023, his work reflects a deep sensitivity towards people, places and stories.

His filmography also includes Pushkar Puran, Gagan Gaman (Skyward), Sad Letters of an Imaginary Woman and In Retreat, with his work showcased at Cannes, IDFA, MAMI Mumbai, Sheffield DocFest, Hot Docs, DocsBarcelona, Munich Film Festival and Visions du Réel.

For धूड़ (Sandstorm), Ashok brings that experience and visual sensibility to the landscapes, people and atmosphere of Rajasthan — creating a visual world that is raw, textured and as powerful as the storm itself.

A remarkable cinematographer, a thoughtful filmmaker, and now an integral part of the धूड़ journey. ❤️
