A lil spot light on our longest available dog, Journey. Journey has been in foster care for seven years. We estimate she's around 9-10 years old now. We would love Journey to spend her golden years as a loved family member, instead of a loved foster. She has some specific needs, but boy is she worth it. Journey is so loving, sweet and loyal.
Journey can be a little wary of new people, but warms up quickly. She prefers women to men and isn't tolerant of children. She doesn't mind doggy friends, but generally prefers them to be male. Girl has boundaries. Journey has been working on these things during her time with fosters, and she has gotten better, but still is happiest with male dogs and female humans. She has impeccable home manners, walks well on a leash and is crate trained.
Could you be our red queen's retirement home?
She would love to spend Christmas 2026 in a real home.

Foster found! 💕

🚨🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED — UTAH 🚨🚨

Flash is a young (~2-year-old) Border Collie who is deteriorating quickly in a rural shelter in Eastern Utah. 💔 Like many herding dogs, the confinement, noise, and chaos of a shelter environment are proving to be too much for him.

Flash has become so stressed in the shelter that he is spinning in circles repeatedly in his kennel, injuring himself, and losing weight rapidly. He desperately needs out of the shelter and into a safe, calm foster home NOW.

And here's the important part: Once Flash is out of his kennel, he is a completely different dog. ❤️ He is happy, friendly, and social. He has tested well with other dogs and was afraid of the cats he met in the shelter.

Herding Haven wants to save Flash. We really do. But we cannot pull him without a foster.

🏠 WE NEED A FOSTER IN UTAH.
⏰ We need one urgently.

This is what rescue is all about.
Remember Lulu? Our sweet deaf and partially blind girl has officially found her happily ever after and judging by these photos, we think it’s safe to say she hit the jackpot. 😍

Lulu’s story is also a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together for one dog. From Herding Haven to FanX and ultimately to the family who fell in love with her, so many people played a part in getting this girl exactly where she was meant to be.

A huge thank you to Shantel and FanX for helping make this connection possible, and to Deann, Laura, Brittany Taylor and everyone behind the scenes at Herding Haven who helped Lulu along the way.

And most importantly, thank you to Lulu’s amazing family for giving her the life she deserves. Seeing her this happy is everything.

Lainey, Nyxie, Echo, Indie and Ned are at the Ogden’s Municipal Park for DOGDEN until 1 pm today! Saturday, September 12.

Come hang out at the Herding Haven tent! There are adoptable dogs everywhere. Ned has been waiting years for his home, Indie is a sweet senior lady, and Lainey and Nyxie are heeler mix puppies and Echo is a mini Aussie. Something for everyone!!!! by @herdinghaven

🌮 MEET PACO THE TACO! 🌮
Tiny package. BIG personality. And the cutest smile! ❤️

TACO is a pint-sized Heeler mix who may only weigh 20 pounds, but he has a personality big enough to fill the room!

At approximately 1 year old, Taco is the perfect combination of smart, affectionate, loyal, and just plain adorable. He can be a little shy when he first meets someone, but once he realizes you’re a friend, he warms up quickly and his sweet personality comes shining through.

And speaking of shining through… Taco has the most adorable smile! 😁 When he gets excited or happy, he’ll flash you his signature grin, making it nearly impossible not to smile right back. It’s one of those little quirks that will have his forever family falling head-over-heels for him!

🌮 Taco's Herding Resume:

🐕 Dogs: Yep! Taco enjoys canine friends and does well with other dogs.

🐈 Cats: Also yes…with a disclaimer. Taco can coexist with cats, but his Heeler instincts occasionally whisper, “That cat isn't going where I think it should go. Better fix that.” 😂 He may try to herd the household feline, so a cat who is tolerant of a tiny four-legged supervisor would probably be his best match.

🏠 House manners: Housebroken! Because Taco is classy.

🛏️ Crate: Crate trained! He understands that his crate is his little Taco Lounge.

🦮 Leash skills: Currently a work in progress. His foster family is teaching him that leashes and walks are fun (not scary)

🧠 Brains: Plenty! Taco is one smart little cookie and will thrive with a family that enjoys teaching, training, and keeping his clever Heeler brain busy.

❤️ Cuddle factor: High. Once you're in his inner circle, Taco is all about his people.

✂️ Medical: Neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.

At just 20 pounds, Taco is perfectly sized for adventures, couch snuggles, and supervising whatever you're doing. He’s got the loyalty of a Heeler, the brains of a genius, and the smile of a dog who has just discovered that YOU are his favorite person.

So if you’ve always wanted a Heeler but thought, “Gee, I wish they came in a convenient travel size…”

Life Is Better When You Bounce Through It! 💕🐾
Meet Rabbit! 🐰a petite double-merle Aussie puppy (4 months old) with a HUGE personality packed into one adorable little body! True to her name, Rabbit bounces through life with the energy and enthusiasm of a puppy. 🐰💨

Rabbit is deaf and visually impaired, but she certainly hasn't let that convince her that she can't do anything! She is a confident, adventurous little girl who approaches the world with curiosity and absolutely no fear. New people? Friends waiting to be made! Dogs? Playmates! Cats? Potential new best buddies who simply haven't realized yet that they should be playing with her! 😂

This little girl is incredibly social and affectionate. She loves people, enjoys other dogs, and is wonderfully comfortable around cats. She is also super smart and eager to learn. Rabbit is already crate trained and housebroken, and she's working hard on her leash skills and learning sign language so she and her person can communicate even better.

Rabbit isn't looking for someone to feel sorry for her—she's looking for someone who will keep up with her! She would love an active family who will give her opportunities to explore, learn, play, and experience all the adventures life has to offer. Her vision and hearing differences simply mean her family will need to communicate with her a little differently and help her navigate the world safely.

Spayed, vaccinated, crate trained, housebroken, ridiculously cute, and ready for adventure. ❤️

Rabbit may be petite, but she has a giant heart, a fearless spirit, and enough puppy bounce to keep you smiling every single day.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who's as smart as she is sweet, six-month-old Danimight just be your perfect match!

This adorable Border Collie x Heeler mix is everything you'd expect from her breeds: intelligent, eager to learn, active, and devoted to her people. Dani greets new friends with a happy tail wag and loves meeting people wherever she goes. She's the kind of pup who will happily join you on adventures during the day and curl up nearby when it's time to relax.

Dani is wonderfully social with other dogs and even does well with cats! She's already housebroken, crate-trained, and is learning to walk politely on a leash. With her quick mind and desire to please, she'll thrive with continued training and an active family who enjoys including their dog in everyday life.

Like many herding breeds, Dani has some herding instincts, so she'll do best in a home with children 8 years and older who can understand and respect her energetic play style.

Dani is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She is being fostered in East Central Indiana.

Meet Timber... a young, double Merle Aussie mix. Timber is blind and deaf and while he may not see the world or hear the sounds around him, he feels it all — especially love, cuddles, and belly rubs! This brave little pup is bursting with energy, curiosity, and a joyful spirit that lights up every room he enters.

Timber loves to explore his surroundings using his incredible sense of smell and touch, and he has a wonderful way of finding his people and nuzzling in for affection. Timber plays with toys (especially crinkly or textured ones!), enjoys romping around in secure spaces, and thrives with a consistent routine.

Timber is learning hand-touch cues and responds beautifully to gentle physical guidance and positive reinforcement. He will do best in a patient, loving home that understands his needs and is excited to help him navigate the world at his own pace. Timber is house-broken, crate-trained and is doing pawsome on his leash training. He is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

Timber is proof that you don’t need sight or sound to be happy — just love, trust, and a place to call home.
