The Gallery 1065 Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Advancement of Joy and Whimsy recognizes an artist whose work elevates the spirit of the fair - through surprise, wit, joy, or bold creative play. The award celebrates art that interrupts the everyday and reminds us why we gather in public to experience it together.

Congratulations to Jes Young! @jesyoung_

By capturing every day moments and ephemera, Jes’ works celebrate life in the city, with the most whimsical ceramic pieces - including cigarette butts, ketchup packages and the much maligned pigeon. There is wit, joy and creative play in each item and vignette created in their booth! by @here_and__here

Bold, sculptural, and playful 💙

Meet the fringe vessel by Amy Rogers of @here_and__here - the accent piece your space didn’t know it was missing.

With a background in fiber arts and fine jewellery, and a decade in the New York fashion industry, Amy brings a unique perspective to clay. Her pieces are designed to be felt as much as seen.

We see time passing in the most mundane things— the kettle boils, the flowers wilt, we grow old. Spring returns, the sun rises, and somehow we even know that sand was once rock. We pass on traditions, and pass each other on a walk, we finish a book, we take the cake out of the oven. Take some time to celebrate a beautiful exhibit about and On Time.

A calendar is handy to note the dates of the exhibit. And maybe a watch for getting to the opening party?

@fishmelissa and I are delighted to bring together the work of these Canadian artists @gallery.1065 to think about and think On Time.

It’s not hard to see that I’m very touch-and-go in the posting department. So let me post this placeholder of the things that I loved this March.
1. From my series of bouquet drawings.
2. Sandhill cranes at sunset in Nebraska.
3. A V of Sandhill cranes the following day.
4. Flying in the clouds over the upper Midwest.
5. Canada geese flying north over southern Ontario.
6. The drive home from my birthday weekend with my boys. ☁️🤍 by @here_and__here

Last chance to shop rings this year!
Meet me this Friday, 4-8pm @gallery.1065
Pick out a pair of earrings too while you’re there.
And so many other quality items from local fab makers.
Is this considered last minute shopping? 🎁
Depends on the shopper.

#shoplocal wherever you are
#shophandmade as often as possible
#shopwithintention to have a clear conscience
#shopwithlove for the makers and the making

And cheers!

P.S. Rings are only available at in-person popups.

But find other jewelry (and my vessels) at the Gardiner Museum ( @gardinershop ) and Part Deux at Gerard and Coxwell ( @hollywheatcroft ).

Cheers again! by @here_and__here
