Today I celebrate an accomplishment that I am proud to call my own. My pediatrics residency staff conference. I truly took the time to prepare this talk to help myself through complex patient care but also to help other colleagues along the way. It is also a special day because I finally feel like the impostor syndrome begins to brush off. In 2017 I sat down in this same auditorium as a medical observer dreaming of becoming a pediatric resident giving a lecture to faculty and co-residents. Fast forward 7 years to see myself in this same podium making my dream come true. I can truly say that I have placed my heart and soul into my dream and I am finally realizing that I am living in it today. Thank you mentors, friends and family but most importantly thank me for taking us this far. I’ll make sure to continue dreaming … by @heredia.alfonso

Today I feel greatful to call these joyful souls my family. We have truly stuck together through thick and thin. One admission, one page, one signout, one “how do you order this”, one elevator selfie, one end of rotation theme, one nightfloat disney movie, one birthday cake, one happy hour, one game night at a time. I have unconditional love and respect for every single one of you. Pediatrics residency is something I had been dreaming for years, but you guys exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to keep learning and creating many more memories by your side.
