I’m a day late but I literally just learned about this holiday lol Happy #WorldAfroDay ! 🌎🪮🫶🏾 As someone who knew little to nothing about how to care for my natural curly hair until all the hair salons shut down in 2020 (and wasn’t taught to love my hair until after the natural hair movement took off when I graduated high school), this day means so much to me.
It is about celebrating what you’re born with and what so many people WISH they had! Here’s some of my favorite moments with my hair over the past 6 years, enjoying the ability to transform and change it up every once in a while. What a truly beautiful, magical thing. ✨ by @heresalook

Happy 28th birthday to me (& happy early anniversary to one of my favorite albums of all time, @xtina ‘s Back to Basics, which turns 20 in August!) 🎂🎙️💋

I have always been intrigued by the overall aesthetic, music, and fashion of the 1940s-60s. Growing up, I loved watching Grease and Hairspray (still do)…listened to Elvis a lot due to my love for Lilo & Stitch and eventually became a fan of @pmjofficial and electro swing as a genre…then in high school, I developed a borderline obsession with this iconic album (which was released when Christina was only 25…Insane!).

I was also really enamored with TV shows set during that time period specifically @agent_carter and @maiseltv …it’s something I’ve always wanted to delve into more but was scared because of how I’d be perceived and how impractical it’d be to dress like this in my day-to-day life as a woman in the 2020s. But after deciding to change careers & following accounts like @rachel.maksy @pinupdollashleymarie and @pinuppalmer , I’ve learned that you can take inspiration from that era when dressing casual and standing out is never a bad thing. Thank you to the team behind creating this shoot.. I’m so glad we could bring this vision to life and that I could give this gift to myself that I can now share with all of you! ♥️ #christinaaguilera #xtina #pinupphotography #pinup #birthdayphotoshoot @scrlgallery by @heresalook

In honor of TikTok dying in a few days 🪦 here’s some of my favorite fashion / style tiktoks that I saved on my phone from 2020-2022. Thank you to each and every creator in this and any that I’m forgetting for inspiring me and making me feel something even if it just for a few seconds 💖 (included that last one bc apparently that’s the only @wisdm video I’ve EVER saved 😂 and I thought that was funny! Y’all already know he can dress!) by @heresalook
