This is more than a policy announcement — it is a historic step toward menstrual dignity and equity in Jamaica.

HerFlow Foundation is proud to stand alongside the Government of Jamaica and UNICEF in launching the National Menstrual Health Equity Initiative, a transformative partnership that will help thousands of girls access menstrual products, education, and the support they need to thrive.

For years, we have been at the forefront of the advocacy for menstrual health to be recognized as a matter of dignity, education, and opportunity.

Today, we celebrate progress, partnership, and the collective commitment to ensuring that no girl is left behind because of her period.

Who made the rules about what a girl should be?

Who says she has to love pink? Wear dresses? Be quiet? Play with dolls? Or choose a career that society considers "ladylike"?

She can be a mechanic, a footballer, a DJ, a scientist, a leader or anything else she dreams of becoming.

And she can be none of those things, too.

Being a girl isn't a performance. It's an identity that deserves freedom, respect and opportunity.

This International Day of the Girl Child, we're celebrating girls who challenge stereotypes, take up space and refuse to be placed in boxes.

At HerFlow Foundation, we believe every girl deserves the dignity and freedom to define her own future.

Let's stop telling girls how to be girls. Let's give them the freedom to BE.

Happy International Day of the Girl Child!

Period poverty is not a “girl problem.” It’s a community issue.

When girls miss school, experience shame, or struggle to manage their periods because they lack access to products, information or supportive environments, everyone has a role to play.

Boys. Fathers. Teachers. Employers. Policymakers. Communities.

Menstrual health is health—and dignity should never depend on gender.
