Do I make this podcasting thing look easy?

The fact is, there are easy parts—like talking to people. And there are parts that take a lot of time…like editing. Each finished podcast is the result of around five hours of work. I have a sound editor who helps me at the very end, adding my music and intros, and cleaning up weird things his trained ear hears better than mine. That’s why I mention Bill in every podcast! He makes all of us sound great!

Of course you’ll be checking out the light displays on Public Square! And after you do make your way to SLEIGH, the holiday pop up bar at @jackclecasino.

I was there Saturday after the tree-lighting and it was a festive evening for sure! I enjoyed sips of several cocktails…my favorite was the sparking Poinsettia! I also enjoyed a warm Caramel Apple Hot Toddy.

One of the coolest things I did in Costa Rica was touring a shade-grown coffee farm in the Heredía Province. Finca Rosablanca is a beautiful property with an inn and restaurant overlooking a lush farmstead and the city of San Jose in the valley below.

Shade grown coffee farms work with the environment and their growing practices support biodiversity and preservation and protection of natural ecosystems.

Our tasting was so interesting…and yes, I brought lots of coffee home with me!

Thank you @society.verde for the chance to see real Costa Rica!

Step into 21 experiences in the ArtLens Studio that invite you to engage with the art in creative and emotional ways, drawing on the masterpieces housed in this world class and FREE museum. No ticket is required for this amazing tech-forward feature that is for people of all ages and abilities. I was blown away by the offerings and it showed how tech advances can be used to build new experiences around centuries-old art.

The corresponding ArtLens app offers deeper connection and wayfinding of the space.

It’s never going to be the same experience twice which is why I am already excited to go back! I’m an Ambassador member and I am telling you it’s a tremendous value and prompts me to return several times a year. I recommend it highly.

The new ArtLens Reimagined opens July 28 to the public but I was grateful to check it out ahead of time and took my pal @aliciamhansen too.

EASY MEALS BY OHIO CITY PASTA

I got to try a few of the Ohio City Pasta meal bundles that are part of their pasta club program and simply put—they blow my mind.

These meal kits have everything you need to get a fresh meal made of local ingredients on your table in 20 minutes or less. You get a recipe card, ingredients, and even a recommendation for a wine pairing. Depending on your membership level, you might also get an extra meal that you can use right away or put in your freezer. Head to their website site for all the options.

The @ohiocitypasta July drop features a creamy corn and ricotta summer sauce and their red pepper fettuccine, one of my favorites! Ruby recommended adding something like sausage or shrimp, so I wandered over to see Tom at @katesfishmarket and picked out 10 pieces of shrimp for my dish. Perfection! Chorizo, chicken, or an herbaceous summer sausage would be great too.

If you haven’t checked out Ohio City Pasta’s stand at the @westsidemarket market lately you’ve gotta go! From radiatori to ramen and every noodle in between, and house made sauces crafted from seasonal ingredients, you can make an easy summer meal!

YOU MUST GO…
TO MATT FISH’S NEW SPOT!

Here to tell you unabashedly that @proofpublichouse is Cleveland’s most original new bar/restaurant and you’ve gotta go.

But, this isn’t a tea room, ok… so be prepared for a little edge—punk/rock/ metal music, some tats and piercings, large scale in-your-face art…make sure you take your latent rebel attitude and an appetite and you will be fine.

We sat at the bar and chatted up Irby (because our longtime friend @noahdreyf wasn’t working Friday), and enjoyed every minute. Great team in place—good energy.

Loved our cocktails and our menu choices…you can’t go wrong and there is incredible variety on this menu. From wings and cheeseteak, to fried feta salad, to a tandoori chicken, a tofu burger, lentil dal and of course the Parmageddon is making an appearance too.

If you’re a wings eater —get them. I’m declaring them the BEST IN THE CITY. Also, if you’re a vegetarian/vegan you will find some menu items for you.

Superb shady patio space—a little haven on the corner(ish) of Lorain and W. 41st.

Really, this place has me psyched to go back and I will ASAP.

SHOP LOCAL AT A FARMERS MARKET

I was in loads of traffic after work on Tuesday — IYKYK—and made beeline for this little market which pops up on Tuesdays 4-7 pm at Lincoln Park.

Lots of walkers, dogs and kids on this steamy afternoon! I’d love to see more farmer/veggie vendors, but peak produce season is coming very soon and the participants can vary week to week. You’ll find a good variety of fresh foods and items from cottage businesses like bread and some food trucks too.

Near town? Stop here at least once this summer, and maybe grab a beverage or dinner in Tremont too—lots of lovely patios to choose from!

It’s the season for Ohio’s best! Let’s go out and get some!

I DINED AL FRESCO IN THE CVNP!

Topography is the annual fundraiser by Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and it’s one of my favorite events of the year.

Living near the park border, I appreciate the efforts of this organization and I’m a proud annual member. Watching the park turn into a large, dreamy dinner party is incredible—this was just a stone’s throw away from where the weekend @cuyahogavalleyfarmersmarket is held but it looks so different with stringed lights, gorgeously set tables, and even some cozy area rugs and sofa vignettes—not to mention the famous cheese canoe and the smoked trout over open fire! The food and vibe were perfect thanks to the best planning team and @spicecateringandevents!

Consider joining @forcvnp if you use the park lands two or 20 times in a year—this group makes sure the CVNP is ready for the future and the growing number of visitors.
