Excellence isn’t described: it’s experienced and passed down. The Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run was a pure immersion into beauty and master craftsmanship. Passing through the Riva Shipyard in Sarnico meant experiencing the pinnacle of Italian heritage firsthand, made even more iconic by the presence of two legendary Ferraris. Yachting, automotive engineering, and haute couture united by a single vision: the relentless pursuit of perfection, attention to detail, and timeless design. The birth of Ferrari’s Grand Tourer legacy in a single car. A 1949 Ferrari 166 Inter Coupé with Marcel Massini history, ex-Carlo Ponti ownership, and Mille Miglia pedigree. There are cars that don’t merely tell the story of evolving design or engineering; they capture the very spirit of an era. The 1949 Ferrari 166 Inter Coupé is precisely that: a milestone marking the exact moment Enzo Ferrari decided to complement his legendary race cars with his first true road-going Grand Tourers. While the world knew the Prancing Horse for its racetrack victories, this model represented a different vision—one rooted in comfort, elegance, and daily driving pleasure. Produced in just 38 units with coachwork crafted by Italy’s finest artisans, this 166 Inter carries a captivating history that has been fully documented since day one: • A distinguished provenance: Its early owners include renowned film director Carlo Ponti—husband of Sophia Loren—and amateur racing driver Augusto Caraceni, son of the famous Roman tailor to Hollywood stars. • A racing soul: Despite its road-going intent, the car entered the Mille Miglia as early as 1951 (bearing race number 420) and returned to tackle the legendary race in 4 recent editions. • Impeccable mechanicals and form: Powered by the iconic 2.0-liter V12, it underwent a top-tier restoration in Italy, with mechanics entrusted to Michelotto and bodywork restored by Cognolato. Completing this extraordinary piece of automotive history is a detailed report by marque authority Marcel Massini. A timeless classic combining Italian heritage with an unmatched narrative. #Ferrari166Inter #FerrariClassic #MilleMiglia #ClassicCars #heritagedriver by @heritage_driver
When art meets racing: the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Zagato 🏁🔥 Combining the mechanical engineering of Gioachino Colombo with the aerodynamic genius of Ugo Zagato gave birth to one of the rarest masterpieces in world collecting: the Ferrari 250 GT Zagato 🏎️✨ Produced in just 5 units on the long-wheelbase (LWB) chassis, this Berlinetta was born with a clear goal: to dominate GT racing of its era by minimizing weight and optimizing aerodynamics 🏆⚙️ The signature trademark? Some cars don’t just travel through time—they master it. 🇬🇧🇮🇹 Behind the historic British registration DXV 369 and stamped onto the legendary chassis 8513005 lies one of the most glorious chapters in automotive history: a breathtaking 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport. Born in Milan from the genius of Vittorio Jano and originally registered by the London County Council, this engineering masterpiece carries the pure DNA of the world’s most beautiful race: the Mille Miglia. Back in 1930, the 6C 1750 GS model made history by claiming a legendary 1-2-3 finish, with Tazio Nuvolari famously averaging over 100 km/h for the first time ever (the legendary night he turned off his headlights to ambush Varzi). Today, chassis 8513005 keeps that exact legend alive. It continues to conquer the asphalt of the modern Freccia Rossa re-enactments, bringing its bespoke coachwork and supercharged roar back to the Italian crowds. A piece of moving art that proves, nearly a century later, that true classics don’t age—they race. ⚙️ TECH SPECS (Chassis 8513005): • Engine: 1,752 cc inline 6-cylinder • Valvetrain: Twin overhead camshafts (DOHC) • Aspiration: Roots-type supercharger (Compressore) • Power Output: ~85 hp @ 4,500 rpm • Weight: Approx. 840 kg • Top Speed: Over 170 km/h (105 mph) #ClassicCars #CarCollector #VintageCars #Petrlhead #AutomotivePhotography by @heritage_driver
Don’t call it just a roadster: the Cisitalia 202 SMM (Spider Mille Miglia) is the masterpiece of engineering and design that changed race cars forever. 🏁🇮🇹 Designed by Giovanni Savonuzzi and derived from the D46’s tubular chassis, this car was built to dominate. During the epic 1947 Mille Miglia, Tazio Nuvolari drove one of these machines against rivals with far larger engines. Despite torrential rain, ignition trouble, and failing health, Nuvolari finished 2nd overall and 1st in class, writing the car into legend as the “Spider Nuvolari”. 📐 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Engine: Inline 4-cylinder (Fiat 1100-derived, re-engineered by Cisitalia) Displacement: 1,089 cc Power Output: ~60-65 hp @ 5,500 rpm Fuel System: Twin Weber carburetors Chassis: Chrome-molybdenum steel tubular spaceframe Bodywork: Hand-beaten aluminum Dry Weight: Approx. 730 - 800 kg (1,600–1,760 lbs) Top Speed: ~160 - 170 km/h (100–105 mph) Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive with a 4-speed manual transmission A perfect fusion of lightness, rigidity, and aerodynamics that laid the groundwork for all modern GT cars. #cisitalia #classiccars #vintagecar #heritagedriver #gentlemandriver by @heritage_driver

The 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider Pinin Farina (chassis 0364AM) is one of the most iconic and fascinating competition cars in the history of the Prancing Horse 🏎️✨. The acronym “MM” stands for Mille Miglia, but this specific chassis went down in history for its indelible connection with James “Gentleman Jim” Kimberly, heir to the Kimberly-Clark industrial empire (the makers of Kleenex) and a highly talented amateur racing driver 🏁👑. The Driver – Jim Kimberly: Known for his glamorous lifestyle and passion for racing in the United States, Kimberly commissioned the car directly from Enzo Ferrari to compete in the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) championship 🇺🇸🏆 The “Kimberly Red” Livery: The car was painted in a bright, custom shade of red created specifically for Kimberly 🔴🔥. Legend has it that Kimberly insisted his entire pit crew and support vehicles be coordinated in the exact same matching hue! Design and Coachwork: Designed by Pinin Farina, the car was originally built with cut-away pontoon fenders, bonnet air intakes, and a single racing windscreen 🎨🛠️ Track Success: Behind the wheel of this chassis, Jim Kimberly dominated the 1954 American racing season, winning the SCCA National Championship 🥇💨 Lampredi V12 Engine: Under the hood roared a colossal 4.5-liter V12 designed by Aurelio Lampredi, capable of producing around 340 hp—a staggering amount of power given the car’s featherweight build and the period tires 🔊⚡ Today, chassis 0364AM is considered a priceless collector’s item, beautifully restored to its original race configuration and commanding multi-million-dollar figures at classic car auctions #ferrari #ferrariclassiche #vintageferrari #pininfarina #carhistory by @heritage_driver
