Brixton Topcats U16 Girls End Greenhouse’s Undefeated Run in Thrilling Weekend Showdown

In what was one of the most exciting basketball weekends of the season, our U16 girls faced a double-header challenge against London Greenhouse. The weekend started on a disappointing note, as Brixton seriously underperformed in Saturday’s matchup, falling to Greenhouse by 30+ points in a tough loss. Missed opportunities and a lack of execution meant Brixton struggled to find their rhythm.

However, Sunday was a completely different story. A determined and revitalized Brixton squad stepped onto the court, ready to make a statement and put an end to Greenhouse’s undefeated season.

From the opening tip-off, Brixton came out strong and focused, taking an early lead and never looking back. The defensive intensity was relentless, the energy off the bench was electrifying, and the passion on the court was undeniable. The team turned the House of Fun into an absolute fortress, leaving Greenhouse no room to mount a comeback.

Defensive Dominance & Unstoppable Team Effort

The defensive unit, led by Salma, Ashley, Nadia, and Rhi, turned up the pressure, shutting down passing lanes, forcing turnovers, and creating chaos for Greenhouse’s offense. Shadya controlled the game’s tempo masterfully, securing key rebounds and setting up plays with composure and vision.

In the paint, Amirat and Kendra dominated the boards, crashing for second-chance opportunities and battling for crucial put-backs when the team needed them most.

On the offensive end, Salma and Mary showcased their scoring prowess, attacking the Greenhouse defense with tenacity and skill, proving they could score at will.

MVP Performance: Rhianon Addison

The standout performer of the day was Rhianon Addison, who bounced back from Saturday’s game in spectacular fashion. She delivered an MVP-worthy performance, dropping 31 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, embodying the true spirit of a Brixton Topcat.

A Performance to Remember
