The moment it all came together! Absolutely stoked to connect with and land this magnificent Norwegian sea trout - a true giant measuring 74cm and weighing in at 4.7kg. The fight was epic, the adrenaline was pumping, and this memory will last a lifetime. This is what we live for! What a way to cap off an incredible trip. Living life - one cast at a time. 🎣🏆

Late September on the west coast.
Fog on the fjord, granite still holding the summer’s warmth, and the water not quite cold yet.

One more cast. Then another.

The boats are coming out of the water one by one, and the season closes on the 30th. Was this the last day? Maybe. Maybe not.

There’s something about that last light of the day — the sky bleeding orange into deep blue, the water holding every reflection perfectly still. Evenings like this make you slow down whether you planned to or not.

A crescent moon already up, masts cutting the horizon, lights flickering across the harbour. The kind of walk you don’t want to end.

My take on the Lazer Dubbing Shrimp — a sparse, mobile pattern built around that unmistakable orange hot spot. Dubbed body with Lazer Dubbing for maximum translucency in the water, palmered hackle for movement, and a easy shrimp eyes to seal the deal. Simple, effective, and exactly what the sea trout want to see this time of year.

Tie a few before the season gets going — you won’t regret it. 🦐🎣
