🐾 300 SERVICE DOGS.
300 NEW BEGINNINGS. COUNTLESS LIVES TOUCHED. 🐾

On Monday we will celebrate a milestone that fills our hearts beyond words. Hero Pups will be placing our 300th service dog with an amazing veteran and a very special family! 🇺🇸❤️
Three hundred times, a dog has found their purpose. Three hundred times, a veteran or first responder has gained a loyal partner to walk beside them through life’s challenges. And 300 times, we’ve been reminded of the incredible power of the bond between a human and a dog.

But the magic of Hero Pups reaches far beyond the veterans and first responders who ultimately receive our dogs. ❤️

From the moment our puppies enter the program, they begin making a difference in our community. They bring smiles to faces in nursing homes, comfort to people going through difficult times, laughter to those who need it most, and moments of connection that can be hard to find in a busy, sometimes overwhelming world. Whether they're visiting a nursing home, school or hospital, learning in public, or simply offering a puppy cuddle to someone who needs one, our puppies are already serving long before they graduate. 🐾

Every outing is a learning opportunity. Every new experience helps prepare them for their future work.

Reaching 300 service dog placements represents thousands of hours of dedication from our trainers, puppy raisers, volunteers, correctional staff, donors, and supporters. It represents the people who believe in our mission and the communities that help raise these incredible dogs.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of helping both ends of the leash.

Here's to 300 incredible service dog teams, each just as special as this one, the communities that help make them possible, and all the lives still waiting to be changed.

We're just getting started! 🇺🇸🐾❤️

💕🐾 GIRL POWER IS COMING (back) TO HERO PUPS! 🐾💕
Please help us welcome FOUR adorable baby girls to the Hero Pups family! These little ladies are about to embark on quite an adventure, and we couldn't be happier to have them with us. ❤️
They'll hang out with us a little longer, soaking up love, getting healthy, growing stronger, and learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. Then, when they're ready, they'll be off to jail to begin the next chapter of their journey with our amazing MCDOC puppy training team!
One of the things we love most about what we do is that our mission starts long before a puppy ever meets their future Hero.
Sometimes it's about giving a little one a healthy start, a safe place to land, a full belly, a warm bed, and lots of love. It's about helping them thrive and giving them every opportunity to become the very best version of themselves.
Because someday, one of these little girls might change someone's entire world. 🐾🇺🇸
For now, though, we'll just enjoy the puppy breath, tiny paws, and all the sweetness four little girls can bring!
Welcome to the family, ladies. Your journey to becoming someone's Hero starts here! ❤️

🐾🎓 A Graduation Day Full of Wagging Tails and Heart! 🎓🐾

It was a special day as we celebrated the graduation of our Hero Pups jail puppies alongside our friends at Merrimack County Nursing Home! ❤️

Our pups make regular visits to the nursing home, spreading smiles, offering comfort, and brightening days along the way. It was extra special to have the residents and staff join us in celebrating this important milestone! 🐶💙

Behind every successful service dog is a whole team of people who help them get there. Our inmate participants have invested hard work, patience, consistency, and love into preparing these pups for the next phase of their service dog training journey. Watching these puppies grow, learn, and develop the skills they need to one day change a hero’s life is something truly special.

To our inmate participants, THANK YOU! Your dedication and commitment make a real difference, and the work you do reaches far beyond the walls of the facility.

A huge thank-you to the dedicated staff at the Merrimack County Department of Corrections who make this program possible, support the participants, and help these pups get the very best start in life. And thank you to the Merrimack County Nursing Home for welcoming our pups with open arms and celebrating alongside us!

It truly takes a village to raise a service dog, and we are so grateful for every person who plays a part in this journey. ❤️🐾

Congratulations to our graduating pups! Your next chapter awaits, and we can't wait to see where your paws take you! 🐕‍🦺💙

Hero Pup Otis has been making us proud with his Hero. From being born with us, to our inmate training program at @mcdoc_nh , then continuing his training with our team at HQ, to being matched with his perfect human, it's been a joy to help Otis along his journey to becoming a service dog. We were thrilled to receive some beautiful photos of them together so that we could update all of our supporters on how they're doing.

🎉 ONE SATURDAY. TWO BIG CELEBRATIONS🎉

We kicked off Saturday celebrating 15 YEARS with our American Legion Rider friends from Raymond Post 90! 🏍️❤️🇺🇸 What an incredible milestone with an amazing group of people who continue to show up for our heroes!

But wait… we weren’t done yet! 😎 We cleaned up, dressed up, and headed off to the Revo Gala! ✨🥂
Everyone was looking AMAZING, the music was ROCKING, and guess what?! We got to see some of our Legion friends AGAIN! 😂 Apparently, one celebration with these folks just isn’t enough!

From motorcycle boots to gala glam, we sure know how to pack a Saturday full of fun, friendship, and memories! ❤️

We’re pretty lucky to be surrounded by such incredible people who support our heroes and make this journey so much fun! 🐾🇺🇸 And just wait til you hear about the other neat things that happened this weekend… 🤫

🐾 NEW PUPPY ALERT! 🐾

We have a new little love bug joining the Hero Pups family! ❤️

This handsome boy was born at our friends’ farm at Dawnfield Farm, and he’s already making himself right at home. In fact, he was a natural in front of the camera and knew EXACTLY how to pose for his official intake photo! 📸🐶 Someone might have a future in modeling if the service dog thing doesn’t work out! 😂

He got to welcome our friends from Vapotherm back to the farm for an afternoon of raking, puppy cuddles, and making a difference. 🍂💪🐾

The raking was appreciated, but we suspect the puppy cuddles were the real reason everyone showed up! 😉❤️

A huge THANK YOU to Dawnfield Farm for helping us welcome this sweet boy into the world and to our friends at Vapotherm for coming back to support our mission. It takes a village to raise a Hero Pup, and we’re so lucky to have such an amazing one! 🐾🇺🇸

We are constantly reminded that it takes a community of awesome people doing amazing things to make what we do possible. ❤️🐾

From Justin literally running across Massachusetts to raise money and awareness for Hero Pups, to our friends at Pepler’s Lawncare & Landscaping showing up on a SUNDAY to move an entire truckload of sand for our new barn floor… we are blown away. 🙌 And they both brought amazing women with them too!

These are the moments that remind us just how lucky we are to be surrounded by people who don’t just SAY they support our heroes — they show up and do something about it.

Whether you’re running miles, moving mountains (or in this case, sand! 😉), volunteering your time, donating, or simply sharing what we do, every effort makes a difference.

We are so incredibly proud to be connected with people who honor our heroes, believe in our mission, and support the work we do for veterans and first responders.
Thank you for being part of the Hero Pups family. We couldn’t do it without you! 🇺🇸🐾

📚🐾 Not every pup graduates… and that’s OK!

For the first few months of every pup’s life, we put them through their paces—different environments, people, animals, experiences, and lots of puppy shenanigans! We’re constantly profiling them to get a better picture of who they’re going to become.

Why? Because we want to invest our time, energy and resources in the puppies who are most likely to make it all the way through service dog training.

And sometimes… a pup tells us, “Yeahhhhhh… I’m probably not going to be a service dog.” 😂

That’s when we lovingly call them our FLUNKIES! 🎓🐶

But here’s the thing: flunking service dog school doesn’t mean flunking at being an amazing dog! ❤️

These pups are often fantastic family companions. They’ve already been temperament tested, exposed to all kinds of situations and gotten a head start on their basic training. That can make them a great option for families who would love to adopt a rescue dog but feel a little overwhelmed by the unknown history that can sometimes come with rescue.

So while they may not have what it takes to wear a service dog vest, they may have EVERYTHING it takes to steal your couch, your heart, and probably a good portion of your bed. 😂❤️

If you’re looking to add a four-legged member to your family, consider one of our Hero Pups “flunkies”!

Did you know that when you get a service dog from Hero Pups, you don’t just get a dog—you get a team that is there for as long as you need us. ❤️🐾

Even 7 years later.

Recently, we received a call after a medical emergency. Our veteran needed care, and his amazing service dog needed a safe, familiar place to hang out while he got the help he needed.

So, of course, we said, “We are on our way.” 🐾

We are also incredibly grateful to the paramedics and hospital staff who helped reassure our veteran that his dog was safe and cared for while he received the medical attention he needed. Your compassion and support made a difficult moment a little easier. ❤️

Because our commitment doesn’t end when a dog graduates from our program. We remain part of their team, ready to step in when life throws a curveball. This veteran has a long road ahead and we will be there.

Seven years later, and he still knows he has a home away from home with us. ❤️

That’s what “helping both ends of the leash” means to us. by @heropupsinc

Some friends just keep showing up—and we are SO grateful! 🐾❤️

Our friends from @sigsauerinc returned for another visit to Hero Pups, ready to tackle a whole list of those small outdoor projects that somehow seem to multiply! From little repairs and cleanups to all the odds and ends that help keep our 46-acre campus safe, functional, and welcoming, they jumped right in and got a TON done.

These projects may seem small, but they make a big difference—and having a crew willing to lend their time, energy, and skills means we can keep more of our resources focused where they belong: on the pups and the people we serve.

Thank you for coming back, getting your hands dirty, and continuing to support Hero Pups. We truly couldn’t do all of this without friends like you! 🐶💙

There’s always another project waiting at Hero Pups… and we’re pretty lucky to have people willing to help us tackle them! 😉 by @heropupsinc

This weekend, our team took some time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the incredible sacrifices made by our first responders. ❤️💙

But taking a moment to reflect certainly didn’t mean we were standing still!

We started by visiting our friends at White Buffalo Trading Post (and a very special veteran family) to accept a check from the Barnstead Old Home Days fundraiser. And WOW… they brought in more than $4,000 for Hero Pups! 🐾🇺🇸

Then yesterday, we headed to the US Veterans Motorcycle Club Ride to Remember. People came from as far as Vermont and Long Island to come together in support of our heroes.

It was also a BIG day for some of our newest pups, who enjoyed their very first outing! 🐶🐾

But as much as the pups loved being out and about, what we loved most was seeing our community come together. Different towns, organizations, businesses, veterans, first responders, families, riders, and friends — all showing up for the people who have shown up for all of us.

This is what community looks like.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to stand behind our veterans and first responders and help us keep doing what we do. We truly couldn’t do it without you. 🇺🇸🐾❤️💙
