I didn’t realise how badly I needed something that was mine.

When I gave up my uni offer after having my daughter, I knew becoming her mum was the right thing for me.

But somewhere along the way, I started feeling like I’d lost a little bit of me too.

And I kept thinking…

“Surely I can be an amazing mum AND build something for myself?”

So I started looking into digital marketing.

And GIRL… 😭

I was confused.

There was SO much information.

Everyone had a different strategy.
A different platform.
A different “secret.”
And somehow I was supposed to know which direction to take before I’d even started.

I didn’t need more information.

I needed someone to actually show me where to begin.

That’s what finally helped me get moving.

I found beginner-friendly resources that broke things down instead of making me feel like I needed a marketing degree just to make my first move.

And slowly, building something online started giving me something I didn’t realise I was missing:

✨ confidence
✨ motivation
✨ something to work towards
✨ and honestly… a little piece of me back.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start.

You just need a clear place to begin.

Because now I know people are finding my content.

But here's the uncomfortable part…

Getting someone interested and getting someone to BUY are two very different things.

You can get views.
You can get followers.
You can even get people in your DMs…

And STILL struggle to turn that attention into sales.

That's why I'm paying closer attention to the message behind my content, the trust I'm building, and what happens AFTER someone shows interest.

Because I'm not here to collect leads and hope for the best. I'm here to build a business that knows how to turn attention into action.

And if you're getting interest but struggling to make sales, you might be focusing on the wrong part of the process.

I don't want my daughter to grow up thinking women must choose between being devoted to the people they love and becoming someone they're proud of.

Not because I want her to be independent every second of every day.

But because I want her to know that loving someone deeply doesn't mean abandoning yourself quietly.

And motherhood made me confront something I hadn't expected.

I could love my daughter more than anything in this world and STILL miss the woman I was becoming before she arrived and build sth for myself.

For a while, I thought those feelings contradicted each other.

They don't.

I'm allowed to be her mum and still have ambitions.

I'm allowed to build a future that excites me, learn new things, make mistakes, and discover who I'm becoming.

I want her to see both.

And no, I've not figured it all out. I'm still learning, still building, still trying to find my feet.

But maybe that's the lesson too.

She doesn't need to watch me disappear to know how deeply she's loved.

And neither do the rest of us. 🖤

Imagine pouring SIX months into creating a product…

Only to launch it and realise you have no idea how to get people to buy it. 💀

And the worst part?

You thought creating the product was the hard part.

But what’s the point of having something to sell if you don’t know how to sell it?

You don’t always need another product idea.

Sometimes, you need to learn a skill that helps you turn what you have into something people actually want to buy.

That’s why I believe learning digital marketing is worth exploring. You learn skills you can keep practising, improving, and building on over time.

Stop spending all your time creating. Start learning how to sell.

Save this before you spend another six months building something. 👀

You miss an exit.
Take the wrong road.
Realise 10 minutes later you're nowhere near where you meant to be. 😂
You don't normally sit there and think:
“Well. Fuck it. Guess I'm never going there.”
You check the map.
You turn around.
You try another route.
YOU ADJUST.
But when it's your business?
One Reel flops.
One idea gets ignored.
One week doesn't go how you expected.
And suddenly you're questioning:
“Maybe I'm not good at this.”
“Maybe this isn't working.”
“Maybe I should try something completely different.”
And THAT is where I think a lot of beginners get stuck.
Not because they're incapable.
Because they're constantly restarting before they've given themselves enough time to learn the route.
A flop can be information.
A quiet post can tell you something.
Something that doesn't work can still show you what to change next.
You don't need to throw away the destination.
You might just need to change the route.
That's something I'm learning too.
I'm still figuring out content.
Still testing hooks.
Still having posts that make me go, “...well, that went well.” 💀
But I'm not taking every low-view post as proof that I'm on the wrong path anymore.
I'm looking at it as data.
And if you're building something from zero, that's a much healthier place to create from.
Because the goal isn't to get everything right on attempt #1.
It's to keep moving long enough to figure out what works.

You don't need more time.
You need to stop trying to make everything perfect.
Because tell me why you can spend 47 minutes rewriting one caption…
…and still convince yourself it isn't good enough to post. 😭
You tweak the hook.
Change the wording.
Question the CTA.
Read it 14 more times.
Suddenly you're questioning your niche, your strategy, your entire fucking existence.
And the post?
Still sitting in drafts.
I know because I do this too.
But here's the shift I'm learning:
Your content doesn't need to be perfect before you put it in front of people.
It needs to be clear enough to make someone stop.
Clear enough to make them feel something.
Clear enough to move them to the next step.
Because you don't learn what actually works by endlessly preparing.
You learn by putting shit out there, seeing what happens, and adjusting.
And honestly, that's one reason having actual strategy behind your content matters.
Because when you're staring at a blank screen thinking:
“What the fuck am I even supposed to post?”
you don't need another 100 random tips.
You need direction.
That's what I'm getting from the Predator resources I'm working through — a clearer place to start instead of trying to piece everything together from 47 different Instagram gurus.

Maybe the “safe” option isn’t always the smartest one.
I gave up my uni offer when I became a mum.
And for a long time, I thought that meant I’d fucked up my future.
But now I keep thinking…
What if I try this?
What if I actually give digital marketing a proper shot before I decide I need to go back and take on years of tuition, loans and a degree?
Because if I can build a skill, learn how online business actually works and create another option for myself…
why wouldn't I at least fucking try?
I don't need to know if this is my forever path yet.
I just need to be brave enough to test it.
Because this is the era of trying before assuming you can't.
Trying before spending years wondering “what if?”
Trying before fear makes the decision for you.
And maybe your first step doesn't need to be a massive life decision.
Maybe it just needs to be a chance.

There was a version of me who was terrified.
Terrified that becoming a mum meant becoming less.
Less ambitious.
Less free.
Less me.
I thought everyone else would keep moving while I stayed behind.
And nobody tells you how painful it is to look at your old dreams and wonder if you’re still allowed to want them.
Then you came along.
And no, you didn’t magically make everything easy.
You gave me something much more uncomfortable:
a reason to stop making myself smaller.
Because one day, I want you to see your mum and know she didn’t disappear when you arrived.
She built.
She learned.
She started again.
She chose a life she was proud to show you.
So today, on your second birthday, I’m not mourning the life I thought I lost.
I’m grateful for the little girl who made me brave enough to build a different one.
Happy birthday, my girl. 🤍
Maybe motherhood didn’t steal your future either.
Maybe you’ve just been looking for permission to build it differently.
