💃🏽 Showing you the real & raw of adulting! The doubts. The pick-me-ups. The hard truths.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Well, hello there. 🌺

If you’ve stumbled across this little corner of the internet, welcome! (:

Her Talanoa is a space for all the things that make us human.

The funny moments, the uncomfortable lessons, the unexpected plot twists, the things nobody prepares you for and the little reminders that sometimes make a difficult day feel a little lighter.

We’ll talk about adulthood, relationships, friendships, money, self-worth, personal growth, healing, burnout and everything in between.

Some days we’ll laugh. Some days we’ll reflect. Some days we might just need someone to remind us that we’re doing okay.

And this isn’t just about my experiences. It’s about creating a space where we can share stories, perspectives and lessons that others might see themselves in.

Because sometimes, knowing you’re not the only one going through something makes all the difference.

So, whether you’re 18, 28, 38, 48 or still trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up (same 😂), there’s a seat for you here.

Welcome to Her Talanoa. 🤍

**Let’s figure this life thing out together.** (:

Take that sick day, don’t tell anyone why you need it. Just take it. It’s a hard truth but remember that within our workplaces we are all replaceable. We are number fillers. Yes there’s some great work places but at the end of the day, you have to have your ‘self-full’ days.

Refill your cups, take time out for you and give yourself grace 💐

And even when we feel alone, He’s there with us through it all. Gahhhhhhhh gets me excited when I think about how much He loves me. Loves you!

I think we underestimate just how much of our lives we spend being stressed.

Stressed about money. Stressed about work. Stressed about relationships. Stressed about the future. Stressed about things we said five years ago that nobody else probably remembers. Stressed about things that haven’t even happened yet.

Sometimes we’re so busy worrying about the next thing that we forget to actually experience the moment we’re currently living in.

And the funny thing is, we can become so accustomed to being stressed that we start treating it like our default setting. We wake up thinking about everything we need to do, spend the day mentally juggling 47 different things, and go to bed thinking about everything we didn’t get done.

But here’s your reminder:
You are allowed to slow down.
You are allowed to not have everything figured out.
You are allowed to take a break without feeling guilty.
You are allowed to change your plans.
You are allowed to let some things wait until tomorrow.

And you are allowed to enjoy your life even when everything isn’t perfectly in place.

Not every problem needs to be solved today. Not every thought deserves your attention. Not every situation needs a reaction.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is take a breath, step back and remind yourself that you’re a human being, not a machine designed to constantly produce, achieve and keep up.

Life is already hard enough. Let’s stop making ourselves feel guilty for being human.

Anyway, I hope your stress turns into a fart and leaves your body. Because honestly, you’ve got enough going on. 😂

In a world full of aesthetics, find yours. Find what your aesthetic looks like when it comes to a re-set for the week ahead.

Often I find myself doing things on a Sunday that my future Mon-Fri version of me will be so grateful for.

Whether it’s a quick meal prep, quick refresh of the bedsheets. Folding my washing. This is where I see ourselves romanticising little things in our life because we simply can 💐

If you have 5 minutes to yourself right now and you’re tired of not having a lil plan in place for when the days feel heavier.

Open up your notes and get to writing ft. a lil example on the next slide (:

If kindness is free then why can’t we give ourselves more kindness? Let’s start with a self-care plan🧃🌻

How many times do we find ourselves in these situations. Too many to count hey!

I encourage you to do what I did, do the hard thing and leave the group chat.

Sometimes you don’t need an explanation or need closure. As the saying goes, no answer is an answer.

Don’t waste away your time pondering over things you can’t control. Friendships come and go but your time wasted doesn’t.

It’s hard when you see friendships come to an end and I get it. But that’s honestly life. The thick of it really.

You’re going to be okay 🙇🏽‍♀️

Even if it’s for an hour or two. Make sure you take time out for you <3

Do it for the future old and grey version of you.

Go and flop!!! 🥹🪁

We need to normalise loosing our sh*t more often. We do not need to have it altogether, get rid of the masks you think you need to wear everyday.

Make mistakes. Flop hard and go hard.

Just always always, pick yourself right back up.

You’re so incredible and I don’t want you to ever doubt that 🌻

I still called my Mum straight after 🥹😆🫶🏽

When I look back on my life and I think about the time I moved out I can’t help but smile at the things that I now know today like second nature.

It was in those moments of not knowing how to operate a washing machine that I found my independence. Imagine if I didn’t move out of home, how many more years would I go within my 20s of not knowing how to operate a washing machine?! Insane right (also totally fine if you don’t know how to operate a washing machine today)🌻

But one thing, I do encourage you to step into the uncomfortable. Learn a lot or learn a little. But at least give yourself the opportunity to grow. You’ll surprise yourself at what you can do.
