‼️Both workshops are full‼️

We have 2 new Brown Books launching this month, and we’re doing a bookbinding workshop for each of them. Both Brown Books document a collection contributed by Hesa M. Aldahel.

I won’t give away too much about what exactly is inside each book, but the titles might give you an idea.

The first is titled Dhs د.إ, which we’ll be binding on June 13th, the second is Fils فلس, which will be on June 27th.

Come to one or both! This is beginner friendly, we’ll be here to give you the full step-by-step and a helping hand throughout, but we also encourage anyone who already knows the process to join for a nice bookbinding afternoon.

The cost of this workshop is the same as buying one Brown Book, so the workshop part is basically free. You get a handmade book, a new skill, and a very chill afternoon.

I was too focused to film the whole paper making process, but I thought it’s time to try colors and pour-over technique. Though I need to improve and practice more I think it turned out very well 🥰
I also wanted to see how the colors would act together. As yellow poured over blue water and red over yellow waters, the results were mixtures I can’t replicate.
For the first time, I was not trying to control the flow of the process, nor was I trying to get a certain thickness, I simply wanted to do it. (Injuries were avoided 🩼 )
Next step is the most challenging I think, as i’m trying to experiment with paper sizing and turn my creations into practical paper that doesn’t bleed 🩸. by @hesarain
