Delighted to be showing this painting ‘Snake Productions Presents: Plane Crash’ in the exhibition ‘Personal Preference’ @thamessidestudiosse18, alongside many fantastic artists and friends and curated by brilliant artist and friend @sr.rita.fernandez

This painting is about lots of things including the usual (sex, rage, the personal apocalypse etc etc etc) but also parenthood and incorporates elements created by my eldest kid, Innis, who guess what is into snakes.

Thrilled that two more of my paintings have entered the Soho House collection, this time at Little House Mayfair in a new curation around the theme of ‘Artists on Artists’. In great company not least alongside my favourite @jodennis__. Thank you to the @sohohouse team especially @katebryan_art and @jackdavidlazenby for all their support. And to @sarah__strang for helping me celebrate 😘

𝙋𝙀𝙇𝙏: Re-Introducing: Hester Finch

(b. 1981, UK) With an interest in how our day-to-day lives and relationships are filtered through technology, Finch’s practice plays with the crossover between painting and digital media, often combining digitally printed imagery with traditional analogue mediums such as oil and charcoal. She pulls imagery from myriad sources – from Terminator and Robocop to double-ended horses, dick pics and the male life model – exploring ideas of sex, power, violence and the places where pleasure and disgust meet. Her more recent work has included a shift toward working with unorthodox supports such as found domestic fabrics, seeking to create an environmentally sustainable practice that is loaded conceptually but light physically.

——

Set within Peckham Rye’s historic Old Waiting Room, PELT explores skin as a charged threshold where memory, transformation, and mortality meet.

Tomorrow 6.30-8.30pm is the launch of the beautiful book that @salomejt_ and @dillonakehurst have produced with @hursteditions to accompany the exhibition of paintings by myself and my three brilliant studio mates for our exhibition ‘Sight Lines’ @hurstcontemporary which runs until 13th January.

At the preview launch at the gallery tomorrow there will be a very small run of the book accompanied by a small unique work by one of us four artists.
