A quintessentially English summer wedding, and a dress that couldn’t have been more perfectly suited to the occasion.

For her wedding to Rupert, Olivia chose our much-loved Foxglove gown, a true Louise Selby icon that has been part of the collection for over a decade. With its elegant boat neckline, delicate French corded lace back and beautifully fluted sleeves, Foxglove is a celebration of everything I love about bridal design. Understated, romantic and timeless, with the most exquisite details.

Olivia and Rupert married at St Peter’s Church in Brown Candover, Hampshire, before walking across the fields to a beautiful marquee reception in the garden of Olivia’s family home.

An utterly charming English country wedding, and such a joy to see Foxglove looking as beautiful today as it did when I first designed it.

‘My branding mini-session at @theyard_hampshire with Hester was just fantastic. It was unbelievably easy to book and Hester sent through lots of information afterwards with all the details of what to expect, what to bring, where to go and the phone call we had beforehand discussing the aim of the session was incredibly helpful too. Having never been very good at having my picture taken (I tend to run away from cameras!!) I was quite nervous but I needn’t have been. Hester immediately put me at ease and made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience; it flew by. I am absolutely delighted with the photographs and it has really helped my confidence in starting my new business knowing that I am showcasing my best self. Recent branding session - the gorgeous Bobbie Swanson @bobbiethecelebrant who is launching her new career as a celebrant (which feels RIGHT) and the usual need for varied flattering portraits for use across website/marketing/socials as well as details that can be used to reveal character and interests, in this case a strong bunny theme! 90 mins is enough for several outfit changes and locations (love how the first looks like a studio shot but is just in front of deep shade, no doubt sheltering from the occasional downpour). Bobbie said afterwards ‘you had this amazing ability to make me feel completely relaxed, and had thoughtfully taken the time to explore my new career and how that might be conveyed - a true professional! You’re also just a wonderful person with whom to spend time - you have this easy warmth which removes any sense of awkwardness. A brilliant experience from start to finish’. Two years ago today - after a last minute substitution - and I can honestly say that these two families were an utter delight. A very significant place to get married and the perfect venue which felt like it was their home for the weekend. @manorofhurst is owned and run by expert gardeners and the setting was exquisite - roses in abundance and such incredible green lushness on the walk to and from the church. Outstanding braai from @flamebbq in a marquee from @onesixevents and the first time I’d seen tambourines used as favours (genius idea) These two were serious, I promise, in the serious bits but mostly they laughed, with each other, their friends and family - it was hard not to be caught up in their infectious joy, delight and sense of fun. Lucky me to have close ties to two of Hampshire‘s most exceptional venues - The Yard Hampshire (home of @bon.and.rose gelato) and Damson Hill Cottage. I’m so grateful to both for agreeing to host mini-session days in June - perfect backdrops for a speedy, fuss-free and great value branding portrait update in beautiful and varied surroundings (plenty of stunning/quirky/characterful interior and exterior options).

Book early to avoid disappointment - I can only do a certain number of sessions each day and they will go fast… Link in bio by @hesterphoto

Well obviously if you get married on 4th May the processional music is pretty much non-negotiable but it absolutely set the tone for this completely brilliant wedding - a masterclass in how not to take it all too seriously and let your personalities shine through. Especially important when things don’t run like clockwork…a tense moment when the vicar was (much) later than the bride…. this irrepressible and perfectly matched pair just seemed to take it all in their stride.
