Hao Zou
“December Requiem” for flute solo, Dedicated to Hexin Zhang（World Premiere）
Recording by @josuadillier
Program Note
The pitch materials in the work are based on a set of mirroring scales. Starting from the first row of scales,
these materials are designed to spread with the flow of the music and gradually become stretched, cropped, and organically reintegrated.
The work was commissioned by Zhang Hexin and premiered at Zurich University of the Arts on November 11,2022.
